Texas Get Together Thread
There seems to be quite few folks with 982 4.0Ls in the Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas areas. I’d like to gauge interest in getting some of these cars together given all of these areas are within a couple hours of each other. This would also give everyone a chance to see what others have done to their cars (thinking all the exhaust options).
As a first go at trying to get a few cars together, anyone interested in driving Lime Creek (Austin area) the 16th of January?

I’m at 350 miles and trying to rack the miles up to get through a break in as well. With any luck there will be several hundred more by the 16th.
No issues with normal COVID protocol stuff on my end.
Three is a good start, hopefully we can get a few more!

Rooster, SA here. There's that as well as the routes out towards Lost Maples. I usually lead a run out 470 to Utopia (breakfast or lunch) then up through Vanderpool to Leakey. Been doing that one for years. Another idea is if you get more perhaps you guys can make your Lime Creek run and we sync up in Wimberley for lunch.
My car is down due to a friggin nail or screw in driver's side rear. Still waiting on a new tire to come in...$440+ for a tire w/only 800miles on it

Yes, this was intended to be a driving event.
Going to keep the 16th proposed to avoid making coordination on a public forum a $h!+ show. I will define a time and publish a list of attendees as we draw closer to take into account weather considerations.
The thread is meant to give all of us a place to coordinate runs, meets, or whatever else we like.
I figured once a month (if we can get a group defined) we could meet somewhere within the general area I mentioned. The local guys lay out what the plan is and we go from there. Nothing formal, just some people with a shared interest doing what they like to do.
I think that pretty much answers the above post.

This is a great idea Rooster! I suppose we could also post in the Central Region forum, but if we're sticking to Spyders, GT4s, GTS' then this works. There's also a TX FB page called Texas GT Club for those on FB. There's several varieties however of Porsche GT models. I am one of the Admins of the page if any have questions.
- Rooster if it works into your plan I'd love to meet up with ya'll!
- For those in Houston or elsewhere and are interested in organizing an actual planned drive out to one or more of the sisters Iet me know! I know dmk2 has also been out there as I'm sure several others have. My typical route is as mentioned in my above post.
