Has anyone found an exhaust solution they absolutely love?

Post #56 is originally from Sausage416 with a Cargraphic Race X-Pipe and an OPF delete. Original post. Sounds great imo.

What was the OAP that you installed?. Did you reuse the factory tailpipes for the Race exhaust?

The 718 GT4 exhaust is basically a skinny restrictive muffler with escaped hatches on either side of it to open for the PSE. With the 981 GT4, you have an individual right and left muffler with all exhaust gases passing through those mufflers. Regular has baffles and PSE is more or less straight through the muffler. Until you have most if not all gasses passing through some form of a muffler and mixing through an x-pipe, you are not going to get that type of elusive sound we are all looking for. There are some options out there now, we just need to have a few of them installed and have people do write-ups on them and share some videos. Just adding an OAP does not in any way fix this problem.

What do you think catless headers with Akra pipes with the OEM muffler will sound like? I had catless cargraphic headers on my 981 GT4 with the stock muffler and it sounds better than OEM...slightly louder cruising around town and then over 4k RPM it sounds mean in a good way.
I think the OEM muffler doesn't mix exhaust from each bank and that's part of the problem with the tone/sound....you will want something that merges those two banks.

Given that the stock OAPs seem to free up a lot of sound when swapped for straight through versions, but don't add a lot to the overall power gains, I would love to hear someone mate race headers and aftermarket exhaust while keeping the stock OAPs.
So far it seems a bit of a balancing act to get the good power increases without making the car ungodly loud/drone-y.

If possible, if you could get a sound bite on your headers and Hi-Flo with stock mufflers as well. I think that would add nicely to the mix of data points for those contemplating this route.

I agree. I just want better sound, less weight while not losing power. Gaining power would be a bonus but it seems to be difficult to have all the boxes checked.
