yeah, that's where I got mine, but its still a bit more than $2.50 a quart for Mobil 1. Now if oil changes came every 3000 miles like in the 60's that would be intolerable, but for most it's no big deal at once year. I change mine at least twice per year, sometimes more often.

Default Mobil ESP X3 0W-40 C40

Folks
Just a heads up.
I've been able to score a number of 5 liter jugs of Mobil 1 ESP X3 0W-40 C40 spec oil. Yup, the 718 GT4 magic potion also known as "unobtanium"
I'll be receiving more than I can use for now so if anyone is interested in purchasing some, contact me privately.
Cost will be my price (approx. $74.00 / 5 liters) + whatever shipping cost is required from me to you.
I expect to have it within three weeks or so.
Thanks.

Congrats! Porsche St. Paul has managed to get some quarts in stock, and was willing to ship me a dozen. My local dealer (Reno) still seems to think it goes for $87/qt, so I've been looking for a more reasonable source. I even tried ordering a 5-liter jug from Amazon UK, but that ended up lost in the mail. It's getting out there, but darned slowly!

Or.... you could buy Motul C40 oil here for $47 / 5L: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/109762.htm
Make the total $49 and ground shipping (which is expensive otherwise) is free.
Or.... also here for $50 / 5L and free shipping:
Amazon Amazon

Not to poop on your parade OP but $74 / 5L is expensive when there's plenty of alternatives that also meet the spec.

Agreed, not cheap but there are some on the forum who prefer only what's officially recommended and approved by Porsche.

Technically, anything with a C40 rating is "approved" by Porsche (Motul / LiquiMoly included).
Mobil 1 is "recommended" as a marketing thing - nothing more.

Yeah, C40 is the actual approval.

Mobil1 is "officially recommended" in the same sense that Papa John's is the "Official Pizza of the NFL". Not meant to be taken seriously.

I ordered the Motul C40 from Pelicanparts.com and bought just over $50 to get the free shipping. It arrived the next day (Southern CA to Northern CA).

California? Pretty much anything south of the arctic circle. Who’s turning the key at -13F? Haha, maybe that guy in Russia...

I can’t see any mention of X3 on your box or on the OP bottle - hope it’s not the M1 ESP A40 stuff!

Not sure, but I believe this is the stuff GM approves for the new C8 Vette and is not C40 Porsche spec oil. It has to say "X3" on it to meet the C40 requirements.
