Is there a part# on your invoice for the reversing lever? Isn't there already one there or is the one in the procedure a new part?

I find this quite strange that some of us have never experienced even one slight grind. According to the TSB, all of our cars should be equally suseptible. Therefore, I can think of only 2 possibilities: there is enough variation in manufacturing tolerances that the problem will only develop in some cars, or different people shift differently. I pretty regularly take my 2020 Spyder to redline in 1st and shift to 2nd, yet I've never experienced even a hint of a grind. I also make the 1 to 2 shift at low or medium engine speeds and never had a hint of grind at any speed.

So is my transmission/clutch/flywheel different, or is my technique?

push your clutch in all the way, don't move the shifter prematurely.

3 years in, got the 1-2 grind every few days at the beginning, seemed to stop for the last year then happened twice in the last few months. Both times were when under light load. Happens so rarely now I'm not fussed anymore and just treat it as a quirk like all the rattling bucket of bolts sounds the engine gives off

Read the entire thread. It's not user error.

Different tolerances is my thought.

Seeing as how I, quite frequently, had this when my 2022 BGTS4 was new, I fail to see how this TSB would help anything. That being said, after I ran the car hard, very hard, over a weekend at Tail of the Dragon just after its break in period was completed, I have had this grind only once. I am now at 9,200 miles.

The TSB weight fix makes no sense as GTS models have this already and they experience the grind. I had the grind on a handful of occasions, however since getting my car re-geared with shorter ratios I have never had the grind. Re-gear done at 5000km, car now at 9000km, so 4000km grind free.

Bob Z --> The "fix" is 2 parts, both are new....a connecting rod (98142403500) and the weight (98130305100). There is a ball on the shift linkage in the car now and another ball on the weight. The weight bolts to the outside of the transmission and the connecting rod goes between the ball on the shift linkage and a ball on the weight.

Correct..... and one of the reason's why I hadn't yet done it before now, even though I've read about this solution earlier in this thread. I'm no expert but with the weight added, I can't feel any difference in the quality or the weight of the shift as compared to what it was prior, without the weight.
