Thanks my friend. Since I plan to get the tune if anyone wants a valve controller send me a message - OAP deletes and Street headers going on tomorrow.

Hi m. Gaydos. Would that ecu give 440hp/346tq for a gts 4.0 ? Thank you.

Scott @ softronics is an awesome guy and I had his tune on my now sold 997S and the car ran flawlessly but as tempted as I am putting his tune of my new GTS 4.0, I am not brave enough to void the warranty just yet, maybe in a couple of years

I would add. Will the six speed manual transmission be strong enough ?

Full SOUL System installed today. Race headers w/out cats, OAP’s, and VALVED Exhaust.

Currently in full open mode, this is the dream set up in my opinion. A proper GT car now. It snarls, pops, burbles, whales, and screams. And it does all this on demand. With gentle throttle, (still full open), I can drive it next to a police car with no concern. It only screams when you want it too. The VALVED exhaust really does it’s job. Now, it does awesome sounds on down shifts with auto blip on. And start-up is a sonic boom of awesomeness.

I'm probably not brave enough to risk an ECU tune for my brand new CGTS, but this is tempting! Two questions:

1. Does the redline increase of 200rpm also increase the rpms at which Porsche records engine overrevs? (Side question: does anyone know what the default overrev ranges are for the 4.0 engine in the GTS cars? I've read conflicting opinions here, but I'm assuming the factory Range 1 rev counter range is 7800 - 8000rpms.)

2. For those of us too chicken to do a full ECU tune, you should consider offering a $695 option that simply does those last three bullets: Turn off Cylinder Deactivation, Turn off Auto Start/Stop, and Keep the Exhaust Valves Open With PSE Button Pressed!

The thing about that is... that's still a "full ECU tune" in terms of warranty. It would probably still require a bench flash and sending them the ECU

Maybe also a $495 option for just keeping exhaust valves always open with PSE pressed, and nothing else. Would still impact warranty while these cars are young, but that would be good for people who want to keep the engine operating within stock parameters and keep *** and cylinder deactivation.

Doing it in the ECU is more elegant than adding a separate exhaust valve controller module with extra hardware and a separate remote control to operate it.

I like this option (if made available), however, the changes I would want are:

1. PSE valves open fulltime when PSE activated; stock operation when PSE disabled (i.e. valves open at 5K rpm)
2. Auto S/S disabled on ignition, but keep cylinder deactivation when Auto-S/S enabled. (some say this can be done with PIWIS as well).

Regarding (2) above, I'm almost never going to use Auto S/S. The only time I would use it would be a long highway drive where I might want a bit more fuel economy for a long trip.

Subsequently, I might also do the "full tune" when factory warranty is over (4 years) and/or if I do sport cats... decisions, decisions ....

Sending my ECU in very soon after 2nd dyno run with exhaust. My note when I ship it will just say: Program ECU to WIN!

I appreciate SOUL being accessible and ready to answer questions from customers. I do have a question about the SOUL valved exhaust.

Is the diameter of the piping in the closed valve paths big enough to support sufficient airflow to allow the engine to run normally (without the ECU pulling timing) with the valves closed say up to 5,000 rpm ?
I am thinking of a scenario where I could use the 3rd mode of the CG controller to keep the valves closed in all RPM when I am just putting around town under the radar......

Glad to help! The primary flow path of our Valved Exhaust is 2.5", and the secondary flow path is 2". With valves open the system is using both flow paths - the 2" one indirectly - allowing for good flow in spite of all of the sound manipulation features we've implemented. The smaller 2" piping itself lends to a higher pitched and more exotic exhaust note when working in conjunction with the primary piping. When you run exclusively with valves closed through the 2" mode it is not ideal for performance in the higher RPM range where the volume of exhaust flow increases. You would likely be fine to drive non-aggressively up to 5,000 RPM without risking anything, but we wouldn't recommend keeping valves closed for sustained aggressive driving or high RPM use.

Hi Mike. I bought from Soul a valve controller for my gts 4.0. It is not yet installed. I want to program it with the garage opener. Is it possible to operate both, the valve controller and my door garage? Thank you.
