Ahhh, completely different then most of us run on the street, understandable that there would be additional drone... good luck at Indy!

Again the resonated race pipe’s fitment is fantastic with acceptable build quality. I think it achieves what Soul set out on producing and it does the job very well.

That said, the drone is BAD. Mind bustlingly bad, wifey was so un-pleased with it we came home and swapped out for her straight piped’ M3.

I think I’m going to keep it on for the rest of the year tho, because I’m an infant and love the way it sounds above 6k.

Sorry if I missed it, but what is your assessment with the top down? I've only driven my car with the top up once, and that was because the windows were just tinted, so I couldn't put the windows down. I don't drive the car unless I can put the top down.

It sounds much better with the top down, which is how I prefer to drive as well. If I could never put the top down I would probably not have the Race exhaust since while I like it I would not want it that way all the time. However, since it sounds SOOOO good with the top down I have no issue!

Does it mean I am out of luck changing to OAP?

Please add you location to be shown in posts...

So monitored GPF's can be replaced but it is not as straight forward as it is for most of us, I suggest you check with suppliers based in England or Europe to see what your options are.

So I went through this entire thread with all 1251 posts and found some very good reviews of the SOUL valved exhaust in OPEN mode, there are even a few videos showing what it sounds like in OPEN mode; HOWEVER, I found next to nothing on this SOUL valved exhaust when the valves are CLOSED. Is it really that underwhelming and unremarkable that no one talk about it ? All I read about the CLOSE mode is that it transition into the OPEN mode smoothly.....and I assume this property makes the factory PSE programming bearable.....
.
I may have missed an excellent review of the SOUL valved exhaust in CLOSE mode and if so, please point me in the right direction.....
.
John @ SOUL, do you have a video of the car pulling away with the valved CLOSED ? I assume it will be a tad louder than OEM with more presence but I don't know cause I haven't seen a video of it......

Yeah, I found SOUL Valved Exhaust + OPF delete video in CLOSE mode but not SOUL Valved Exhaust in CLOSE mode on its own (no OPF delete) which is what I am looking for......

Hey There!

Happy to chime in with some feedback driving that setup when I'm back in the office, or feel free to give me a ring anytime at 4848836197 and we can chat in depth about it. Always comes across more efficiently over a phone call haha.

Regards,
John Gaydos

Thanks John, this can wait till you are in the office. Besides, it is better to have this info all in this thread so others can learn about the CLOSE mode of your Valved Exhaust along with me

One thing that I am particularly interested to learn is the "indirect" bend and the extra length on the close path, it is an interesting design and hopefully you can tell us the design philosophy of this feature

Well, I ordered one of these today

Thanks to John for his time today, and all the forum members who've answered me back channel. I should have it in 7-8 weeks and I'm looking forward to seeing if it meets my goals of improved tone (two x pipes!), very little added drone over stock, and no significant added volume. I'll be keeping the OEM valve logic for now, and re-using the stock tips which I'm a big fan of.

I'm looking forward to hearing it too. I did consider the cargraphic unit as well but to be frank their systems are so confusing (the labelling) and I couldn't find anyone just running the rear section to ask questions to. I think the design is similar, but who knows what's going on in their muffler. I must have listened to this clip 100 times, and for me this has a good amount of "motorsport" tone - I mean it is a road car.

Interior sound: 20 seconds of full throttle on the Sochi F1 track's straight with the Soul race headers and valved exhaust - also OPF delete with some Supersprint pipes. Up to 8200 RPM in 4th as the limiter has been raised.
