Hi John, what's the lead time looking like for the OAPs ordered around mid-May? Thanks!

It's not an incredibly pleasant experience but totally doable
My time was similar, doing it alone and taking a lot of pictures along the way, definitely need to be up off the floor though!

Hey There!

I'm going to need a little more information than that. Could you PM me your full name and/or invoice number? I'll look up your order specifically and get you an update

Regards,
John Gaydos

Wow, that's a lotta wind noise, but sounds great. Remind us of what pipes you did?

Soul valved exhaust and valve controller, the rest of the exhaust is stock except the GPFs are gutted. The Soundaktor has also been disconnected.

Now I am glad I ordered street headers to go with the OAP deletes and valve controller - not deep enough for me without them.

If I had realized you had a Spyder with the top down I wouldn't have made that wind noise comment. The IG link didn't show for me. The rest of it is stock, meaning the headers. Enjoy, man, sounds amazing. Did you try the disconnected Sound Symposer before adding the mufflers?

Yes, the headers are stock. I worked an the soundaktor when the DIY fix was first posted here originally. The thinking then was filling the tube with something near the firewall, and disconnecting the vacuum line was good. John Gaydos did his experiment and write up a few days before my valved exhaust was due to arrive, so I removed the tube itself and plugged the vacuum line back in when I did the exhaust install. I posted that in the related Soul thread.

As I said earlier, I love the way my car sounds now. I haven’t driven it with the top up since installing the exhaust, that will probably come this weekend when we head across the Mojave on a trip to Las Vegas. And, I haven’t had the opportunity to drive in any tight canyons yet, where the sound at full song can bounce of the canyon walls. My SA did ask me at one point during the ride why the sound didn’t seem as loud as it had in the section we just finished; I explained that the residential area we had just went through had a 10 foot wall for the sound to bounce off of, but the open 4 lane we were on then let the sound travel away.

My goal for the GT4 was to have it sound like a refined race car. I've always liked pretty loud, throaty exhausts on my motorcycles, but didn't want anything too obnoxious for this car. I love when people notice and react to the sound of my car, but I don't need them to be covering their ears and hating their neighbor. Earlier this year I installed a set of Soul OAP's, and later added a pair of their tips (mostly because I like how they looked).

Over the weekend while off on a touring drive, I decided to do a little sound test with two GoPros, to contrast the sound inside the cabin with the sound outside, alternating back and forth in the same video. Of course, with their limited microphone capability, and a bit of wind noise factor, this isn't a perfect representation - but it does give some sense of how great it sounds for me, both inside the car and out. Turn it up - and listen on quality speakers My absolute favorite part is the little "growl/bark" it makes when hard on the gas, just before a shift. Awesome.

Awesome video! Curious where did you mount the two go pros? Inside on that cross aluminum bar? And outside where? Bumper with those suction cups?

Thanks! Yes, inside one was with clamp (

) on the luggage bar, and one in the rear was using a suction cup stuck to the license plate (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/joby-action-series-suction-cup-and-gorillapod-arm/9565153.p?skuId=9565153) - praying it wouldn't fall off .

Thanks appreciate the recommendations! Glad to hear that this suction cup didn't fall off on you, that's my main hesitation to do it too! For the front there are those tow hook mounts but for the rear I was never comfortable with an option.

Default SOUL OAP w/Valve controller & Stock Exhaust

Hi All-
Sorry I know this has been covered somewhere, BUT....am looking at Soul OAP's with valve controller and otherwise stock exhaust...I've heard that the OAP's can make the car slightly louder but am wondering if the car is close to stock sound levels (in terms of volume) with valves closed? Am looking for increased volume when I want it (valves open) but need to be considerate of neighbors when leaving and coming home, so wondering what the sound level is like with SOUL OAP's and valves closed.....thanks for input! (and my neighbors would than you if they could) :-)

This video was shot entirely with a go-pro suction cup mount on the trunk lid, and a second on the inside of the windshield. I have 4 go-pro cameras that I mount various places depending if track day or autocross using either suction cup or claw grip mounts.
