Exhaust flap switch

Exhaust flap switch
Hi everyone,
My new GT4 is grounded at the back of the garage for the time being (like many I suspect) but that had not kept me from thinking a bit of the exhaust « issue » that this car has (at least according to some).
Disclaimer: I like how it sounds and have not gone over 5.5k yet, so the best may yet come.
That being said it is certainly not overly loud. I am not sure I really need anything fancy like a full-blown titanium silencer which will void my warranty, cause issues with the insurance and dig a small hole in my pocket.
One thing that I find interesting is that a few companies seem to come up with technical solutions allowing the exhaust flaps (which I believe are closed between 2-4k RPM then perhaps a bit after that?) to be left open at anytime the driver wants. I found these ones so far:
https://www.schmid-motorsport.de/en/für%20Porsche%20(1)/Cayman/676/valve%20control/684
https://www.cargraphic.de/en/your-ve...clubsport-38l/
https://asr-component.de/startseite/...1_mit_schieber
None of these things is terribly expensive, so price would not be a real factor in picking one over the other. However, things like:
- reliability (eg not turning your car into a torch during a trackday)
- integration / ease of placement in the car (I will get a specialist to put it in the car but would like to avoid them cutting carpet, cables, dashboard, etc here and there!)
- ease of use
- ability to go undetected at the yearly car inspection
- overall reputation of the brand
would be important to make a choice.
Any views here? Has anyone used similar gear on other cars in the past?
Thanks for contributing, I hope this thread helps others too!

I'd pick a module like Cars with Luke that can be integrated to the existing PSE button (Sport Tec?), and not one that has a separate switch, but that's just me. Otherwise any of these are fine, Cargraphic being a very popular, known to be reliable brand.

Ah, I thought he said it's controlled by either the PSE switch or separate controller, my bad. Not sure I'd spend money for it bc I would never even want the closed position activated on a stock exhaust. Might be best to just unplug the hose and call it a day.

Hey works_team, I’ve never used systems like these before but I'll be ordering my system from Schmid Motorsport as I've already installed their exhaust. I'm waiting on feedback this week from them as I would like to purchase the system that uses the cigarette lighter but then the lid doesn't close properly. Stefan Schmid says that he has a GT3rs customer that modified the tray so that he could close the lid. Once I have more info I’ll place my order, it will be one of the 2 in the pic. More info will follow once installed. Cheers.

for my 718 GT4 i live in the middle east region which is same as the US, we don't have particulate system in the exhaust. the sound is nice but still the valves IN ALL PORSCHES nowadays (as stated by cars with luke) they will forcefully close once you move until you reach above 3k RPM to open. unless you remove the flaps plug which will make them open all the time.

I see that Armytrix has a remote fob and a dongle that plugs into the ODB to manually control the the exhaust actuator. They are light on info so I cant really tell how or what it does exactaly.
