Once porsche starts over with an all new 911 generation, the GT3 is released before the GTS. The GTS is only released just before the midcycle refresh of the carrera.

Look at the release dates of the 991.1 GT3 and the 991.1 GTS

I think it will be a little longer for a 992 GT3. From the 997.2 to 991.1 it was 4 years. The 991.2 was in 2018 so not likely to see at GT3 before 2021 at earliest, but hey we can hope as we do for a 718RS. Fingers crossed on both.

As far as I'm concerned, I highly trust my center as they could get clear informations about production to come. By clear I mean written in black on white paper. This goes for 4.0 GTS, GT4 RS and 992 GT3 launch .. My main questions are the following:

Will this GT4RS even road compliant? How much will it cost? considering we French have to make the government a gift of 20k euros pollution taxes. Will we have cool RS colors? (because grey is so common that I need something exotic in my life..) Will the 7 PDK gear ratios really more interesting on the road? I really don't care wheiter I can't track the car or not, since it gives me some thrills and the .. (what's the english for that thing which happens in your pants as an happy man? ) I'm a defender of manual gearboxes but I expect the PDK to be more useable on mountain roads... If only we had the 997.2 RS ratios .

I think 992 GT3 will be revealed online press release Fall of 2020, in person Geneva 2021, deliveries in EU starting summer 2021.
