Obviously, I don’t have any experience or qualification in comparison to John… but… I think Porsche will be more ‘sophisticated’ or less direct…

I really think they’ll use the space that is currently occupied by the pretty useless storage bins behind each seats.
These things go down so deep and with a change to body in white could provide opening to the engine bay with space for routing and mating into the intake tracts for each side.

It wouldn’t be as aggressive as the CS MR or John’s solution, as there wouldn’t be as much room for the expansion chambers/cone filter chambers. But could still provide decent additional colder air and some more pressure vs just the regular air inlet position.

Just my W.A.G really.

I'm anxious to see the back of an RS tho because it's very Porsche to render the back useless for more performance so it makes sense that this intake that started as a need for our US based race cars is going to be used to jazz up the RS. This intake makes IATs = within 5F of ambient and it has added pressure. I've already shown how it pushed our 4.2L from 179 - 183 at Daytona by adding this intake AND the 92mm Hellcat throttle body.

if you want pics, here...
Is there enough space to feed the intake from the top of the engine cover? That may be a simpler solution.

How much horsepower will the GT4 RS have? 450 hp? Do people think the GT4 RS will be more fun and agile than the 992 GT3?

Since this is all speculation, let me add my tuppenance worth.
1. ITB's and cold air side window intake
2. Inlet cams plus valve retainers plus porting
3. Suspension parts from the CS
4. Akrapovic Ti exhaust
5. Lightweight wheels, frunk, vented front wings, roof and glass
6. Maybe 992 LWB seats
7. Wing and a couple of other "aero" bits.
8. Special launch colour with matching interior bits and of course lots of stickers.
9. Power around 450-470 bhp

It will still be a Cayman with the suspension limitations that implies so not a 992 with double wishbone front and multilink rear. IT WILL BE A VERY NICE CAR.

Wait... they changed the LWB’s for the 992?? I had no idea!!

So does anyone think there’s the slightest chance they stuff the DWS from the 992 into the front? The GT4 has pretty much a GT3 front suspension right? Though it’s obviously easy to put the 991 components in there. Would the 992 stuff need a completely unrealistic amount of change to the body to fit them in?

Make *zero* sense to have a double wishbone suspension on the front with a strut based suspension in the rear.

Besides the front subframe section of the 992 is a totally different design from the 991/981 series, different modular series between the 992 and the 718 series.

The 992 LWB seats appear to be the same as 991 but you can order a buch of different (but tasteful) inset colours. I personally wish they'd offer the fold back carbon seats in the GT4 so it would make it easy to stuff coats etc back there.

You don't want to go that route which is why Porsche didn't either.

You would run a double A arm front suspension with a strut based rear suspension on a cayman if you planned to retire fixing bent race cars. It's probably the only thing that would make the car handle even worse and been even more snappy!

I have always had a soft spot in my heart for Caymans: I have my name down at a couple of dealers for one.... not sure if it will be faster or slower or the same lap times *** my GT3 but it should be a fun car.

Not really, the difference is subtle. It's mainly style difference, the shoulder support on 992 bucket seat are more squarish than the rounded design of the older style.

Found this today and haven’t seen it added to the thread. Looks like the Swan Wing. Too bad they couldn’t get a look at the side profile.

Would it make sense for a car like this to come with a Weissach package? If this car comes out to be a 130-135k car, what are the chances of a Weissach package of 15k+? And what would it even have? Magnesium Wheels?
