Or it could be a safety factor to prevent lugging the engine trying to get to VMax.

No, the car easily achieves 9k in gears 1-6...

Wow...that's quite nice but I'm sure once you add the OAP pipes it will be very loud.
Any chance of this rear section with mufflers and OAP with resonators to tone it down a bit, specially the drone?

Not by throttle input. I believe the ECU protects you. But in PDK S I believe you can register over revs. They evidently don’t hurt the motor a bit but they do register. If I am remembering this right from a thread a long time ago.

Like Stage 1s?

Does the 4RS even register <200 rpm over revs?

I’m pretty sure the 992 GT3 doesn’t in the new way they record them.

If I go by my 718 GT4 PDK....even in manual + Sport, you will bounce on the rev limiter and it wont let you downshift if the revs are not available.
Bouncing on the rev limiter if you don't shift probably does register on the ECU.

Those revs don’t count worth #%^[ for over revs.

I know...they are not real over-revs. But they do get register.

Yep, I think you could sit on the rev limiter for a full minute and the ECU will cut fuel and spark cut as long as it needs to. It's kind of a moot point but yes, they do register. My Porsche master mechanic definitely says you can see them.

Not at all like Stage 1's! I'm not sure what they look like when you see them on the computer off the ECU.

Although the ratios are shorter, the overall performance difference is very small and largely balances out the difference in engine torque (e.g. 470nm Vs 450Nm).

This manifests itself as instantaneous force at the contact patch during acceleration/ instantaneous acceleration and g

For a GT3 RS (2nd) this is
total F - 12,841N (992 GT3 12,975 N)

and for a 4RS (2nd) this is
total F - 13,066 N
roughly 1.7% difference - which isn't really noticeable (and is more than negated by the dynamic coefficient of friction at the contact patch road surface interface).

992GT3, 991.2 GT3 RS and 718GT4 RS are capable of pulling ~ 1.3g on launch in absolutely optimal conditions (warm tires and high grip surface).

When you get your car, just enjoy it - the engine is very benign but also very responsive - ignore the conspiracy theorist youtubers, most don't know their **** from their elbow.....thats why they do you tube videos in leased/ borrowed cars.

Weisach pack question;

Is it just an appearance package or do the Ti tips actually make more noise / are lighter?
