I may be in the minority on this, but I think the demand for the 4RS is going to be lower than people expect. Even if it's an awesome car, people need to remember that a stupid high percentage of the 3RS's are purchased by people who never go near the track and many probably will never even drive the car hard. They buy it because its the Big Bad, plain and simple. And we all know, no matter how Bad the 4RS is, it's still going to be the lesser child in a lot of Porschefile's eyes. And the fact is that most, not all but most, Cayman buyers aren't in the same price range as the typical GT3 buyer, so selling a $165k+ GT4 en masse is going to require GT3 buyers to step down to the 4RS.
I think there will be a group of die hards that'll do that and pay a premium for this car up front, but I think that group is smaller than people think. And I think if Porsche were to produce 4,000 of them, they'd struggle to sell all of them for what we all know will be a pretty high sticker.

PAG knows it, so I guess the ADM won’t be high but the production number also won’t be high. Maybe Everyone who really wants it can get one at stick price at last.GOOD news!

Absolutely, demand won’t be high at this price range, most 718/GT4 buyers won’t take it even with 0k ADM.The GT3 buyers who want to step down to 4RS is also a minority.

The average GT4 customer may not be game for a RS with ADM, but with very low production numbers there are gonna be a lot of customers who can and do pay ADM's that are gonna be in the mix. My local dealerships all have lists of double digits already for the GT4RS. It is all but certain that none of them will get more than half that number, if that. I would be elated to be wrong on this, but the signs aren't good.

The problem is that there are a lot of people who want a GT3 and can't get one right now (myself included), so some of those people would happily buy a GT4RS with a markup. Even then, like others have pointed out, VIP's are gonna cut heavily into the numbers, then the other whales will take their fill.

My guess... I can't wait for the reveal, and hope I have a shot at one being on a waiting list for years. I also hope they produce it for 2 years, but it seems most RS models are 1 year only.

And VIPs can get GT3s, not to mention the coming Sport Classic, ST, and RS, so I really don't think that many of them are going to be chomping at the bit for a 4RS, unless they just buy them at sticker to throw in storage and flip a year later. I think Porsche is smart and that's why they're likely to limit production.

The new 992 GT3 is absolutely epic, on another level from all that came before it. People jonesing for that car are simply not going to view the 4RS as a comparable replacement for it, even if it has 500hp. They’re going to hold out for the 3RS, for the same reason few of them bought a GT4. Right or wrong, that crowd views the Cayman platform as pedestrian compared to the 911.
And I laugh at all the people on this sub forum acting as if they’d write a $180k check for one if they could just get an allocation. For most that just total Internet dick swinging bull****.

The cars are gonna be wasted. Those guys already have GT3RS's. This will be a step down for them. Again... a big slap in the face to all the fans of the platform that this SHOULD be for.
I really hope that's not true and there are more of them for mere mortals to get and enjoy. For all the effort that went into them... they should be a step up for owners. Not a step down.

Base cost in the UK, circa £100k to 110k, but who knows?

You guys are arguing over the virtues of the GT3 vs the GT4 RS on the assumption that the buyer is cross shopping the two. There are a huge number of buyers out there that have multiple cars so it's not a question of choosing one over the other, rather its simply a question of whether you are going to get an allocation or not. These buyers will suck up all the limited production very, very easily and even many of those buyers will be disappointed.
In my case, it looks like I am going to be one of the disappointed ones. I put in a signed EOI with a small holding deposit almost 4 years ago when I first heard about the car. I was first name down at my dealer. Well, last week I get the call. My dealer is only getting 2, maybe 3, 4 RSs next year.....and considering I am also getting a GT3 Touring....I would have to choose....GT3 Touring or GT4 RS
. They are just trying to be fair to their good customers so at least some get one or the other.
It's a very hard choice...but I have gone for the Touring...but still have my hat in the ring for a 4 RS in case they get more cars.
