Wow... Yeah, 20 bones is a lot still. Hoping these cars hold their values, but like you, this is my last car. I still have my 99 Boxster and loved it. But, need to upgrade!

Definitely! But life is too short and we are only getting older. I have a good feeling that they are compared to rest of the car market..

I have only seen one in person at it was at Cars and Coffee in San Clemente.
You'll see another one next week at Cars and Coffee San Clemente. That blue one is a Rennlist member car if it's the blue one I'm thinking of with BBS wheels and pepita seats.

Hope that's the case. I just put a deposit for 2023 GTS4 last week and my SA couldn't comment on allocations for this year. Keeping fingers crossed we hear some good news in Q1 2023. I'm located in the GTA

Just got word from my dealer that they are not receiving any more allocations for the 718 and 911 this year and confirmed it's Canada-wide. I'm on the waiting list for a CGT4.0 and was told there are 8 others in front of me. Not to sound negative, but does anyone have a plan B? For me these are my options if I can't get a GTS4:
- 718 T or base or s
- Supra (manual)
- Civic Type R??
- Used market after sh** cools down

Take a look at an F80 M3 to bridge the issues we are having getting new or replacement GT cars. I Picked up a cherry 2016 and in its stock configuration, its putting in similar track numbers to the GT4. For <$1000 I can get a stage 1 tune and push the HP closer to 475. Been a lot of fun at the track.

The delta in cost vs feel and all the other soft factors is something only you can resolve.

Wonder if they're diverting Canada allocations to the US or other locations. Would love to be the fly on the wall when PAG makes these decisions.

I respect providing a solution to a problem but if you're set on a 718, there is no substitution or a bridge. I've owned the F80 M3, three of them actually, and I would not recommend it as a bridge car.

For me there was no Plan B. Plan B was implementing Plan A.

Well the dollar is very strong versus all currencies including the Euro and the Canadian dollar so why not.

Wow. Except for exterior color, our Spyders are almost the same. Obviously you have good taste lol.
I was lucky to find my allocation in St. Louis with only 10 K ADM. Ron Wiley at Porsche St. Louis is a straight up guy and I can recommend the dealership. They were great to work with.

Great car, but personally, I'm not a fan of the M3 either. I feel like any of my options will not come close to even a base 718 lol. Time will tell what happens in Q1 next year. In the mean time I will be trading my c43 AMG for a 2022 BRZ next week (she's in transit to TO from Vancouver). I leased it for 2 years until I get the GTS.

Yup hard agree. Even if new ended up not being an option I would have found a way to get into a used one. There are no cars out right now that can scratch this specific itch.

I had almost given up as well until I got confirmation I'm #2 which means chances are more likely than not that I'll be able to grab one.

My backup was 997TT or build a 996TT to GT2 specs (ie. RWD conversion and the bumper/wing - I absolutely adore the 996 GT2 and it was a dream car of mine growing up). Or, downsize the budget to a 997 C2S and just drive the hell out of it. 997 C2S are still amazing sports cars for the value right now. I didn't believe the hype til I drove one properly for an entire day and began questioning if I really need to spend double on a 718 GT car for my thrills...

An E92 M3 is also a truly special beast if your use case is summer weekends/trackdays, and I'd give it a strong consideration over any F series BMW M car. If more daily driving is a requirement, then a F87 M2 would be the best modern BMW to go for IMO. Seriously fun, plenty of power, great driving dynamics in a short wheelbase.

Expected nothing less honestly.

A used 981 GT4 is 2x an F80 M3. A used 982 GT4 is 3x ask, so something between 2.5x-3x to acquire. You need to square that delta against your usecase.

Love my GT4. But you guys are drinking too much Porsche KoolAid. The Fx chassis still races in all the GT4 class races, and does fairly well.
