I have 6 or 7 Porsche dealerships within an hour drive of my home. And most of them are considered high-volume dealers, which get more GT car allocations because of that status. But some smaller cities may have only one (or none) lower-volume Porsche dealer...

Just got word from my dealer that they are not receiving any more allocations for the 718 and 911 this year and confirmed it's Canada-wide. I'm on the waiting list for a CGT4.0 and was told there are 8 others in front of me. Not to sound negative, but does anyone have a plan B? For me these are my options if I can't get a GTS4:
- 718 T or base or s
- Supra (manual)
- Civic Type R??
- Used market after sh** cools down

My wife's 5 year old lexus, we just got 17% above what we paid for it new 5 years ago (gas prices are making hybrids stupid money and the wait on new ones are out over a year on some). I'm going to replace that with a temporary car (probably a e87 116i or 118i bmw as I can get one of those for under 5g with <50000km or a 2nd gen DCT audi TT for 6-7g which are teh only 2 cars that are good bang for buck for what I can find). I'm potentially going to liquidate my DD too while it's worth good money and drive my truck as long as I can handle driving a truck as a DD. I figure the used market should cool in a year or 2 so that will open up options again and if done right our cost of owning cars since 2015 and 2017 will effectively work out to being almost completely free for depreciation.
I have already noticed the used market overseas on old sports cars has cooled somewhat for sold prices and are actually down a decent amount from peak (although teh creme-de-la-creme condition ones are still going up). Newer used sports cars still seem to be going up and up though :/

Has anyone been distributed any new round of allocations for July yet for the USA?
My dealer claims the next Spyder allocation is mine.
He also mentioned that Porsche is prioritizing third and fourth quarter sports car production for the USA... where first and second was almost non-existent.
🤞🏼

Local dealer for me is Boise, ID
Here is the word... I have been in line for 8 months with depots on both allocations.
GTS : 1 year - 1.5 years until allocation received / build submittal.
GT4: 1.5 years - 2 years until allocation received / build submittal (if at all).
This timeline presses into electric Cayman timeframe.
Dealer stated if deposit for allocation is not filled, deposit will roll over to electric Cayman.

I am on the list with a North Carolina based local dealer for a GTS and was given 1-1.5yrs for an allocation as well.

Didn't Porsche say they would be building their "emotional" cars in tandem with the EVs for the next 3-4 years? My understanding is that they'll still be making GTS 4.0s and Spyders even after the standard 718 is phased out and EVs are being delivered.

Boise dealer sounded pretty sure a GTS allocation is going to happen.
GT4 seems to be a %60 yes, %40 no (my numbers, not dealers)

It was stated if I held out for a GT4 allocation and it was not filled, the allocation would roll into the electric Cayman.
