So technically I don't have a true allocation then. I've been told mid to late January is my lock date.
If you have given your SA a build, then they should be able to show you the "build sheet" they submitted to PCNA complete with a commission # which associates your build with a dealers allocation for production...
no build sheet w/a commission # attached to your name, and PCNA & PAG do not have an allocation committed to your order and in the internal order/production tracking system.
If indeed your lock date is this month, you should have your build submitted and associated with an allocation
its most probable that what you have here is a lazy SA who just can't be bothered keeping you appraised of your order's progress... (either that or a liar)
regardless you want to double check the build that has been submitted on your behalf by your SA to the factory to ensure that they have not made any changes or omissions, prior to it locking.

Okay, I do have a buildsheet with a signed off build by me and a commission #. It took me a while to find the commission # on my buildsheet and contract.

Saw this available GT4 yesterday at Porsche of Destin (Florida). Python Green, manual, with sport seats. Carlos is the name of a SA there (850) 650-0884. No affiliation.
How cool is the Rennlist community? Four weeks ago I made the decision I wanted a custom build on a Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK...plunked down $5000 with my local dealer in a Seattle suburb to get on the list...then obsessed and agonized over when I'd possibly get an allocation...fast forward 4 weeks to yesterday, the dealer tells me I almost certainly won't get a delivery until after summer and possibly closer to end of year (2021)...WHAT?!?
I join Rennlist.....post my situation.....within 20 minutes someone (thank you Goran!) PM's me.....I call that referral.....4 hours later I have a build sheet, a commission number, an estimated build date (April) and an estimated delivery date (June 11)!!!!!!! GIDDY-UP! Thanks all and glad there is an active community like this....happy to be a part of it...
Now I just have to figure out how to get it from LA to Seattle without a scratch.... :-)

I was thinking of the PEC LA delivery and drive home and I might be over-thinking this, but was concerned about highway driving for hours during break-in.....am I paranoid are smart? :-)

That will be perfectly fine but make sure you vary the revs and try not to use cruise control on your drive home. Not sure if you're concerned or not but driving that long way could get some paint chips. You can use track tape to protect the front end if you're planning to do ppf when you get home. If you're not planning to do ppf at all then happy driving.

definitely the former! its not an issue - if you are worried, don't take the highway all the way - take RT1 from LA to SF ...

don’t drive just the highways! Take 1 at least during the central or northern CA coast. That’ll give you plenty of rev variability. Definitely should drive it.
