What is going on with the 718 market?
#258
Since everyone is posting up their recent acquisitions, I guess I can finally post mine after signing the papers on it last night. Found this car up in Tewksbury, Massachusettes on Black Friday. 2018 Base PDK with an original 75k MSRP. First In-service date was July of this year, and the car only has 1500 miles on it. Since I was buying sight unseen, had a friend look it over thoroughly and the car is as clean as they come. Was able to snag it for $52,500. Not bad at all for what is nearly a brand new car. Car is scheduled to be loaded up and brought to Texas later this week. I absolutely cannot wait. This is my first Porsche and a dream come true. I couldn't be more excited.

I have a theory:
Young dude scrimps and saves some dough and buys a piece of his dream: a 718.
He picks it up on Saturday morning.
He takes his girl friend out Saturday night. She's a bit subdued by the whole thing.
Sunday morning she tells him she's pregnant.
Sunday afternoon he trades the 718 for a Toyota Venza.
Poor F@#ker.
His loss is your gain. Just remember: raincoats are not optional.

Thank's everyone, I'm pretty stoked. I did a little Internet digging based on the name of the first owner on the title, and the dealership's story holds up. Was traded in by a lady in her 70s. She traded in a Maserati and this Cayman for a Hyundai SUV and a Corolla Hatch. The Maserati was black but nearly an identical combination of the interior to the 718. I don't really know what prompted the exchange of vehicles, especially one that was only 4 months old but I'm not going to question it. She/they took really good care of the car from what I've seen and there isn't so much as a spec of dust anywhere on the console. Been looking for the right 718 for a year and never thought I'd find one at a Toyota dealer in Mass.

Truth is stranger than fiction.
See? I couldn't have made that $h1+ up and if I had no one would have believed it.
Not I.
You got a great car, great color combo, and a great deal. Enjoy.

Which car was that? Curious to know if I'm familiar with it since I've been shopping.

Wow!! That's amazing. Kinda explains the trade-in values these days for highly optioned units.
