Update: SOMEHOW my bank was able to get the money back! The FBI agent said it was transferred to another bank in the Bronx and on its way to Nigeria. So i'm unsure how it was stopped and my bank has no idea how the FBI agent knew any of this but i'm just VERY relieved it's back.. Have a good weekend everybody!

You dodged a huge .50 cal shell buddy! Go buy a lottery ticket and don't go wiring money to anyone ever again! Go through a bank or credit union and then pay it off.

@jayely1 Any idea how much that GT Silver car actually sold for? With everything that happened I think you, and hell all of us deserve to know!

Good question! I'm assuming for 76.5 since that's the lowest he told me they'd go.. Not certified that is.

Interesting. And the car had like no miles at all on it?

Nah, go out and buy the Porsche you want, and buy it in person, hand over the cashiers check in one hand and take the keys with the other.

Now you've just been "gifted" a huge sum of money you don't have to save a couple of grand by going thru a long distance purchase.

I wish I could find a silver 6 speed GTS with the interior I like. I searched through every single Porsche dealer yesterday.. Took forever.. Is there a better way to search all Porsche dealers for new cars?

I went to the Porsche America site and simply searched Dealer inventory. Found a few interesting cars quickly.

Good Luck.

Why can't you just do the deal on the original car?

@jayely1 - So glad to hear that you didn't lose your money, but feel bad you had to go through all that stress! FWIW, a good friend of mine spouse bought that Cayman in question at Mckenna this week. Put a credit card deposit on it, hence it getting pulled from the their site inventory and it being marked as "sold", then they flew in and showed up in person to finalize the payment.
Regarding finding another one, I spent around 9 months searching on autotempest and the sub site searches they offer (e.g. LA Craigslist) before I found the sweetheart deal I got on my car. Just takes patience waiting for the right lease returns to come back into used inventory. I hope you're able to find your next car quickly and with substantially less drama and stress. Best wishes to you!
