Nice, good to see Porsche are finally using two piece rotors with alloy hats as standard on non-GT cars. Looks to be floating as well.

Can you please put the standard 718 S/GTS pad and the 992 pad side by side? Any issues with matching up the Master Cylinder?

I take it the GT4 brakes are not compatible?

I don't think those are two piece with aluminium hats.

I can tell you that the 991.2S front & 981 Spyder rear brakes are a direct fit on 718 as I did it a year ago:

991.2S 6 Spot 350mm
99135142315 Caliper Left x 1
99135142415 Caliper Right x 1
99906705309 Caliper Mounting Bolt x 4
99135194702 Brake Pad Set x 1
9P1615301E Brake Rotor Left x 1
9P1615302E Brake Rotor Right x 1
99135558103 Brake Pipe Left x 1
99135558203 Brake Pipe Right x 1
99160918100 Front Brake Pad Wear Sensor x 2

981 Spyder 4 spot 330mm rear
99135242414 Rear Brake Caliper (right)
99135242314 Rear Brake Caliper (left)
99135293902 Rear Brake Pads x 1 set
99906705309 Caliper Mounting Bolt x 4
98135240300 Brake Rotor Left x 1
98135240400 Brake Rotor Right x 1
98135558204 Rear Brake Line (right) x 1
98135558104 Rear Brake Line (left) x 1
99160918300 Rear Brake Warning Contact/Sensor x 2

Master Cylinder
99135513027 Master Cylinder x 1
99135501302 Expansion tank x 1
WHT005308 Outer hexagon round screw M 5 X 51

That front rotor looks the same as 991.2S except for the black coating on the aluminum hat.

I think the hats are an alloy, but they are not floating.

Here's the front disk on a 991.2 GT3

I think you're right, they are not floating but they are definitely two piece and the hats look to be alloy. I assume you can replace the rotors without replacing the hat?

Also what is it with radial pin system holding the rotors? Seems to be unique to VAG cars and can't see how you would repace the rotor unlike with the bolted two piece floating rotors where you simply undo the dozen or so bolts holding the rotor to the alloy hat.

New rotors include the hats, no replacing just the rings, You need something like the AP rotors to do that. The big reds on the 993 were the same way, bolted on hat to the ring, but you have to replace as a unit.

Then it seems like the Giro Disc 2 piece rotors are still a better option to these Porsche rotors with the alloy hats. I believe the Giro Disc are also floating.

That is correct. We will be doing 350mm F/R 2-piece Girodiscs rotors with the GTS 4.0 calipers and a GT3 pad from PFC. Girodisc is currently closed right now as they're up in Washington state where it's pretty bad.

We will be putting together a factory OEM+ street upgrade for 718 owners with the GTS 4.0/992 S front calipers, rotors, and pads

Still waiting on the calipers to arrive so we can start diving into the brake upgrade, but here's a little reminder to stay safe and stay healthy.

Cute, but the mask needs to be on the side intakes on the Cayman because that's where it breath from. :-)

Motor oil... I guess I'll me using the appropriate Mobil One type (have not done one yet).

Brake fluid... RBF 600 because the car will only be used at HPDEs and not in any competition. Also keep in mind I have upgraded the front and rear discs to Girodiscs and PFC pads.

We use regular 0W40 Mobil 1 as recommended by Porsche and we use Castrol SRF brake fluid (when it's available). We still have some in there from November which was our last bottle. Seems like Castrol is having a massive global shortage while they rework the formula.

Honestly the car does not move much and brake fluid is being flushed about once a season depending on how many track events we do.
