We're heading out to Sebring tomorrow for another track weekend with Suncoast PCA. We put on fresh PFC pads and did a big tire size change.

We're trying out 255/35R19 and 295/35R19 Cup 2's. We removed the rear 15mm spacers for now. Weather looks to be high 60's by mid-day and no rain so track conditions should be ideal

Good morning from Sebring! It’s a chilly start but we’re in good company. We’ll be running COBB’s new v200 map on track this weekend

Do you run PFC 08 pads front and rear? Looking forward to your thoughts on the new tires and Cobb maps!

I didn't think 3m tape would do that job at speed so I've passed on the scoops.....I don't track but have been above 130 in the 718 on my 'special desert road'....let us know what you work out to fix that if you do.

Yes we run PFC 08's all the way around. They are awesome on track and never fade

Going by the workshop manual the 981 GT4 uses 3M tape only. The new 718 GT4 manual doesn't even say tape or glue, just to attach the scoops. We will be reinstalling the new set with both tape and glue per recommendations by BGB Motorsports and their 718 GT4 Clubsport.

Update from Sebring and the new v200 maps from Cobb. We had limp mode issues again... On the third session of the day the car went limp on every single lap. No notice and no dash lights, just no power. It happened twice coming out of Turn 1, and once each coming out of 13 and flat in 9. If you coast for a few corners the boost comes back, but after 4 laps we packed it in. Very nerve racking with a car on your bumper at 90mph coming out of Turn 1 and all of a sudden the car can't get out of its own way. Both cars are never expecting that and it's a little on the dangerous side.

We did manage to get a few different logs on the new v200 Stage 1 93 file and have sent them off to Cobb for their engineers to take a look at. They told us they're going to work on a specialized file for us which will hopefully eliminate the limp mode. Those guys have been so supportive and always want to know how everything is going with the car being tracked so heavily down here in Florida. We'll report back when we get the revised file

We had our best lap in this car on the second session of the day. The new 255-295 Cup 2's were great all day. Here's a 2:25.30 in black group with PCA. This car is still much quicker than we can her around the track

Well, if they flew off, then they are certainly grabbing some air! What type of glue?

Little update on our brake project: The 718 GTS 4.0 six piston front calipers just became available so we have a set of those coming from Germany. No timeline as of now due to COVID-19 but we're hoping everything is back to normal by May because we have two track weekends at Sebring that month.

COBB Tuning is still working on PDK revisions so we can test on the street and track. Pretty excited to try them out.

Here's some random pics with the newest Suncoast project car we just picked up

Will the 6-pots be a direct bolt in? I hope they will clear the stock 19" wheels if they are.

Hi. Any specific reason why will you want to use the GTS 4.0 6 pot calipers instead of the 991 S/4S 6 pot calipers, specially when the 991 calipers allow you to use the much larger and thicker GT-3 brake pads with the specific, for this combination, Giro Disc 350 x 34 rotors? These rotor has a smaller center section that allows these 991 Carreras S/4S calipers to use the GT-3 pads. Or are both of this calipers the same part number?

Granted, I’m using these bigger front calipers/rotors/Gt-3 pads in combination with 996 turbo rear calipers/350 mm Giro Disc rotors/bigger pads.

Catalog is showing new 718 GTS 4.0 models and the 992 Carrera S use the same caliper. Choice of red or black in 6-piston format. We will be trying to fit these in order to run 350mm Girodisc rotors on front and rear and pair them with a bigger pad. This is on the recommendation of Girodisc
