Shane, I also just checked out your website. Really cool! Bill's only 20 min from me. I had a 64sc he helped me out with about 5 years ago, and Bill is currently working on a coworkers 60 coupe. He's a wealth of knowledge and a really great guy. Love the project, I'll be following it. Please keep the updates coming.

Wow, great thread, and I wait in anticipation to see some shots post the paint.
Whilst there are many owners on the forum, doing a rebuild like this is a true dream, so congrats.
I love the fact you built yourself a heated garage already. Thats class.

Thanks everyone, sorry it has been a week or so since my last post. Been busy at work, www.balkowitch.com, it is how I afford this crazy little dream of mine in the first place. Anyway, spoke with Bill, the painter has not gotten to my car yet and he has lit a little fire under the issue for me. Told him no worries, don't want to rush it, have waited 41 years for my own Porsche, another week or so at the painters will not kill me, who am I kidding. Anyway, I promise to post pictures of the paint as soon as it is done. K45-286 Silver for the body, and a wide 912 Grand Prix white paint stripe down the center, should look pretty cool. Also doing the dash in the same white also, something a little different, I know it is standard procedure to have dash same color as car, but what the heck, I think it will be a nice contrast. Black leather Speedster seats with NO Piping, only double WHITE HEAVY stitch, lets hope everything in my head is going to translate to looking good in reality. So thanks again for following, as soon as I get a picture of paint on sheet metal, i will post it, in the meantime, keep the faith and thanks for your interest in my little build.
Sincerely,
Shane

Our vendor for the interior work is Autos International, Augustine is very helpful and obviously knowledgeable, Bill has used them many times in the past and their work is top notch. I discussed all black leather throughout the car with heavy white thread to add a little personal detail. Standard charcoal Porsche 356 carpet will be used. We are going to try to carry the white thread detail to the dash, the door handles, and the front and back seats. Probably not everywhere, but where appropriate. The dash of my Outlaw will be painted the same white as the race stripe, so having a white white headliner is important, off-white will not do. I am still holding my breath the pictures of some sort of paint on the car, as soon as I get them I will share with everyone right away.
Thanks for following,
Shane

We will be getting paint on metal next week, Bill is going to go over to the painter and remove the doors, then they will do the silver and then the white race stripe. I will post pictures the same moment the arrive to me, Bill is great about keeping me updated, he knows being thousands of miles away from the build is tough, please keep checking back, any comments or suggestions welcomed.
Thanks,
Shane

Paint this week. K45-286 Porsche Silver as the historic cars at the Porsche Museum are painted, got the paint codes from a curator over there.
I will post pictures of paint as soon as they arrive, thanks!

Well I am very happy to report that the paint is complete, just setting over the weekend in the paint booth, some buffing come early next week and then we can see it in the true daylight. It looks amazing. I have not updated the photographs yet to my website, but you can find them at Bill's website until I do so, click below

Here are some new photos of the paint completed, some final buffing and it will be on its way back to Bill Hamilton and his team sometime this week. Can't wait to see it out in the light of day, that damn paint booth lighting is killing me. Want to see the Porsche 356 No.1 Silver shining in the daylight. Thanks for following. Let the assembly begin.

I love silver on a 356.... but then I am partial. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I bet you are getting excited to get this project completely done. When you see the paint work, impatience usually starts to set in.
