Yes, I've been busy...a LOT of elbow grease! It surprised me how good it came clean.
The bottom of the car is very rusty. You can also see the trunk area and engine compartment... At this point I'm feeling it's too much for me and considering letting it go to someone who can really make this happen.

PM sent.
I'll pass - I have enough long term projects.
It is a do-able project though for someone - but I wouldn't recommend it as a learning car.

Yes, well The deed is done. I listed the car for sale on TheSamba -
I've come to the conclusion that this one is not for me. I've determined by the advice of all you great people here on Rennlist and all those I've spoke to in the last 2 weeks - this one is not for a novice. (Thank you all!!)
My pockets are not deep enough right now to sustain a project of this magnitude. It's really a shame and although I'd like to see this one through - it makes more sense to cut it lose and make a few bucks in the flip.
The car was listed for sale and sold within 2 hours.

Vinny, glad you were able to work out the battle between head & heart.
this appears more like a good first 356. (I have no personal knowledge of the car or owner). we may see more "affordable, entry level" 356s in the coming months.
