Dare we say these Porsches are… sleepers? Is that even possible? It’s weird to think about, but at $400,000-500,000, they certainly aren’t just regular 911s. These are RUFs.

RUF Automotive GmhB, based in Pfaffenhausen, Germany, has been making custom Porsches since 1939, gaining notoriety with cars like the CTR Yellowbird and the CTR3. Road and Track took special notice of the company at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, where RUF showed off a stable of its high-quality restomods, including four new 911s and the debut of the SCR 4.2.

The SCR 4.2 is based on the 964 but has a chassis that’s been lengthened seven millimeters. At just 2,646 pounds, the car is extremely light, largely due to a carbon fiber body shell that weighs only 24 pounds. That, and carbon fiber in the hood, fenders, door panels, and engine lid.

Under the hood, the 4.2-liter flat-six produces 525 horsepower that hits the wheels with a 6-speed manual. RUF estimates it will have a top speed around 200 mph. But it basically just looks like a regular old-school Porsche. The cost of secret domination? $527,664.
