The car world is always in need of bigger, better, and ballsier automotive videos. It’s an extremely expensive endeavor to do it right, as /Drive had indicated numerous times before partnering up with NBC Sports Network to create their /Drive+ channel. That’s partly what makes this new show Bangin’ Gears so intriguing.

Assembled and brought to fruition by Alejandro Salomon, or @Salomondrin on the ‘nets, it has the access to and backing of profitable companies (like custom shop Sticker City) that Salomon is involved with. Oh, and his social media presence commands the attention of thousands of CUP Bangers, as they call themselves. CUP stands for Cars Unite People, and the intent is to have somewhat of a crowd sourced and interactive video experience with the fans.

Episode one starts with a BANG (sorry, won’t happen again) by bringing together a Viper ACR and a Porsche 918 Spyder. The show is pretty raw, it’s got some interesting characters, the video quality is phenomenal, and the cars are amazing. This seems promising, as long as the people are bearable.

Pro Tip: The driving starts at 11:00, and the hot laps start at 20:00.
