The Process of Installing a Clear Bra on a GT4

When you make major automobile purchases, you haveĀ a dilemma: leave it as is and appreciate the piece of art you just bought but risk damage, or protect the purchase with some sort of exterior safeguard that is detrimental to the look of the car? A perfect example of this is a car bra. It’s understandable that you don’t want rocks chipping up your nose, but let’s be honest: most of them look terrible. But there’s another newish solution: clear bras.

The guys at Detailed Designs recently set up a thread that details some of their work on the Porsche Cayman GT4, and one of the more common jobs is putting on a clear bra and a protective nano-coating. The first example they threw up is a gorgeousĀ Rhodium Silver number that got treatment on the front, rocker panels, and bottoms of the doors. The body, door jambs, wheels, and calipers got the nano treatment.

DD put up plenty of photos of the process, and they give you some good insight into exactly what they have to take off and tear down. Check it out, then let them know what you think.
