Dempsey enters next phase of partnership with Porsche Design. In the latest brand campaign, he presents the timeless eyewear model P’8920.

Hollywood fame and Porsche motorsport pedigree makes Patrick Dempsey the perfect Porsche Design brand ambassador. The collaboration between the two began in January of this year. It was the first time in the near 50-year history that Porsche Design had anyone play the brand ambassador role. It seems to be working out well, as they are now moving into the next phase. The next phase is a campaign for a new eyewear model P’8920 from the new Porsche Design Hooks Series.

Porsche Design was created by Professor F.A. Porsche a few years after he designed a little car called the 911. As a result, anything coming from a design studio that has that sort of history comes with high expectations. Porsche Design offers everything from belts to watches to speakers. However, they may be best known for their line of sunglasses. With the P’8920 Porsche Design reintroduces the iconic “Hooks” as an unmistakable design element. Like most good design it is the little details that make it stand out. If you hear the word hooks and imagine a pair of sunglasses that resemble the Opti-Grab, you would be quite mistaken. The names hooks refers to a tiny design feature that hold the lens in place.

These sunglasses use a frame made of precisely manufactured stainless steel. Also, the temple tips are made from high-performance plastic for maximum comfort and lightness. In addition, there are several different styles that you can choose from in this new line. The P’8920 D with a subtle gold hue for the frame combined with green tinted lenses. There are also the P’8920 model A, B and C that have their own unique color combinations for different looks. A P’8919 model is also part of this release. The P’8919 stands out with a squared aviator shape.

This new line of sunglasses is available now at exclusive specialist retailers and from April 1 in Porsche Design stores, as well as online at porsche-design.com. The prices are expected to start at $440. Although they may not transform you into a Dempsey look-a-like there is no arguing that they are a stylish pair of shades. So, if you have an open top Porsche in your driveway, or if you want to appear that you do, these will go a long way towards completing the look. We are excited to see what Porsche Design and Dempsey have up their sleeves for their next release.
