Singer 1990 911

I’m pretty sure they call it Singer Vehicle Design because every time the company restores a Porsche 911, a choir of angels sings exultantly from the heavens.

Actually, the company was named after famed Porsche engineer Norbert Singer, along with founder Rob Dickinson’s other career as a rock ‘n’ roll singer. But still, after seeing this beautiful 1990 Porsche 911 customized by the team at Singer — which GQ describes as “car porn at its finest” — there’s a good chance you’ll be singing the company’s praises too.

As you’re hopefully aware of by now, Singer Vehicle Design has been doing the impossible since 2009: modifying the Porsche 911 to be even better. To do this, they offer bespoke, handcrafted restorations of air-cooled Porsches, specifically the 964-model 911. According to their website: Singer’s “lofty objective” is “to distill, enhance, and recombine the strands of greatness that have long marked the 911 as iconic.”

Singer’s latest awe-inspiring, made-to-order restomod certainly fulfills that objective. This beauty features Hemingway blue and orange paint, sand beige with suede leather weave track seats, and a beautifully revamped dash and stereo. It’s also rocking updated suspension and brakes.

GQ doesn’t offer many further details to speak of, other than noting that a Porsche 911 customized by Singer will make you look like Steve McQueen. While that’s certainly good information for any Porsche 911 owners thinking about a restoration to consider, if you’re interested in getting the Singer treatment for yourself, head over to their site, or give them a call at (818) 504-7212.
