Description:

981 GT4 and 2016 Trailex CT-8405 trailer. See build sheet and modifications sheet. Also, see DME report.*

I am the 2nd owner, purchased September 2019, had 22k miles. 5-6 DEs a year and lots of street driving too. Very well maintained with extensive documentation, and well sorted items for the track. No OEM parts were kept except factory wing risers and black OEM 20” wheels (selling with the car, not separately). The trailer is all aluminum including wheels and had a full service in January 2024. It comes with a spare tire & bracket (not pictured as it’s on the right side), tire rack, and 3 can fuel posse (a 4th 5gal gas can with refueling spout is also included). Tires on the trailer are GY Endurance 2023. Trailer has electric brakes. A vehicle brake controller is required.

Many questions are expected, not going to try and head off all of them now except the DME report (below). The car & trailer will be available 9 Sep. My club, KYPCA has a DE 6-8 Sep, it will be my last one. 16 years of HPDE, 14 different tracks over the years, PCA instructor the last 9 years. I have a 991.1 Cab and am ordering a Macan S pending this sale. It has been an amazing car, not a garage queen, but loved every minute in it. Clean Carfax. I retired in the past year and my wife and I want to travel, end of story. I hope to sell it as a package deal for $87k, car only for $83k, and trailer only for $6k. It pains me to do this but it’s time.

*I bought it (knowingly) with some range 4 over revs. In April 2021 at Road Atlanta I unfortunately miss shifted. I put the range 5s on it. I promptly had the Numeric system installed after that, and never had an issue again. Almost 200 hours have elapsed since then. PPI/leakdown check at your expense (I can arrange it) but the engine is solid. No stock GT4 can hang with it. And the GT3 titanium muffler is the perfect tone.

I will have an updated DME report on 9 Sep and can arrange for a PPI that day too (your expense). Car will be clean, the track tires will have 3 days on them with at least 3 more days remaining. The OEM 20”s have brand new MP4S in factory size. I’m planning plugs and coil packs on 27 Aug, prior to the Sep DE. If you want a leak down/compression check, that would be the time. The extra labor cost on you, just let me know and I can get the price. Car and/or the trailer can be picked up 10-17 Sep. I can meet within a 100 mile radius for the package deal but not driving the car or towing an empty trailer anywhere. All remaining purchase details will be negotiated. Thanks for looking.

Very nice price for a purpose built car.

No one should be worried about the over-revs 200+ hours past.

What a great deal for somebody looking for a track car!

GLWS and I hope you enjoy your next chapter of fewer DEs and more travel with your wife.

Nice Build. Like the Yellow but Sapphire Blue would be my first love but still interested.. Had a bunch of posts but somehow they were displaced and I now have none. Tried sending messages to the site to have my status put back but to no avail, since I never received an answer. Anyway, I'm not looking to track but to drive on the street . How does it perform with the mods driving around town. IS it a hard ride or in between. Does the exhaust have any drones inside at the 2-3k rpm level. Any expel or PPF on the car. Thank You in advance for your time.
Kind Regards,
Ps: If an administrator or someone from the site reads this and can restore my status so I can PM it would be greatly appreciated.

Yea that’s funny, I wanted SB too. And my buddy, 2 years later in 2021 was looking for RY. I have RY & he has SB! With the -4 front camber it is more set up for the track but can easily be returned to stock settings. No other suspension changes to effect the ride until Sport mode is selected with the DSC & PASM. PPF on front and lower sides (mentioned in the mods). Thx

see above response and no, there is no drone at any rpm. And note I have stock headers and cats. The Dundon headers will not make the 103 db sound limit at my closest & favorite track, NCM.

Several private messages/questions have been sent to me so I thought I’d answer them again for all to see here. As mentioned in the 1st paragraph of the ad, I did not keep any OEM parts except the factory (too short imho) wing risers and the 20” black satin wheels (which I use on the street and the rain on the track, MP4S). The Salter Aero wing risers are more robust than the factory but look very similar. I found the factory wing was smack dab in the middle of the rear window/rear view mirror, and the extension (4”s) is perfect for me. I have a 38.5” sitting height. I kept the OEM in case the next owner preferred the stock look. The sport short shifter was sold to a friend w a Cayman S. I preferred the Numeric almost immediately and like I said above, never had a miss shift again. The muffler was replaced by the 1st owner for sound, a little more free flow (performance), and weight (20#s off the back). Everyone who hears my GT4 at the track, comments on the tone being “perfect”. No droan at any RPM! I drove the car home from Baltimore when I bought it, and had to pay for the Forgeline wheels to be shipped and didn’t want to pay for the muffler too. He may still have it. I have changed the oil every 4-7 track DAYS, the gearbox oil every 12-15 track days. The 1st owner had the original transmission replaced 2x under warranty. It has been solid for me (and a new factory clutch went in when I did the GT LSD at 24k miles). Wheel studs and nuts were replaced in May 2024. New brake pads will be going on before the Sep DE (Ferrodo 312s). The SS cam tensioner bolts from BGB are in another thread here on RL. Pricey labor but never regretted doing it. Same with Porsche Motorsport strut tower braces. On the mod pic above, the 1st owner did the top items. I did everything below the gap and in that order. I think this covers the PM questions. Thanks for all the interest. It’s a fantastic car, esp for the track which is what Porsche intended when they built it, imho. And I tried adding pics of the carbon fiber dash vents (polished aluminum was so shiny they could blind you w the windows down depending on the sun angle) & the IPD/82mmTB/Dundon intake runners but the files are too big for the RL software.

Default Trailer and car weight

Do you know how much the car and trailer weigh together?

Car is just over 3k and trailer with out gas in the cans and no tires on the rack is 1200#s according to Trailex. I tow with a Cayenne Diesel and am in the 4400# range. A Macan could do it (I’ve seen it done) but it’s too close for me.
