I used the Griots rubber cleaner and then bought the trim rejuvenator and it looks good so far.

Had my AFM out today. Once out I see there is this adapter screwed into the adapter for the cone intake, and its not closed on the other side, so I assume it was just sucking whatever air from the back as well. Anybody see anything like this? Also, based on the glue on the AFM, anyone know if that looks like original glue or if its been opened up?

Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant
was recommended to me by someone that restores a lot of cars. It's a little pricey for a small bottle but was told it lasts a long time. I haven't had a chance to use it yet.

Just wondering if anyone is running Gert's front crash bar. Im tired of scraping! I know it fits 993s, so I bet it fits on our cars too?

Where can one obtain the part? I could not located a website.

Thanks!

How low are you? Try to enter and leave lots at at angle to avoid scraping. I've only scraped once when going too quick into a friends driveway at night.

Suncoast has one.

I apologize in advance as I do not have access to my car and I have searched for the answer, but is the rear parcel shelf the same part in the Targa, Cabriolet and Coupe? I am working on a project for my targa and I want to know if one from a Coupe will fit the Targa.

Thank you all.

Default gear shift boot and **** removal?

My 91 cab has the "woody" look for the gear shift **** as well as the hand brake lever. I'm wanting to remove the **** and boot to fix an rattle in the **** area. The threads I have found deal with all-leather shifters including up to the ****. The "woody" look is like a plastic coating, and I'm wondering if I remove the **** the same way (ie - pull like ****) as I would the leather *****. Is there a chance that I'd need to remove a nut or something under the leather pattern insert on top?
Option XC9 for the "dark rootwood gear shift and cuff"

According to PET, the rear parcel shelf (964-555-111-00 back wall lining) is the same for the coupes & targas. The cabrio & speedsters use a different part number 964-555-075-61

when I was installing my momo steering wheel install and placing the
airbag bridge plug in, I found an unconnected connector in the center console, what is it for?

Drawing a blank at the moment, but I also had it, don't sweat it. I just covered it with electrical tape.

Ok, question. First are these fair (seems like it) and second, which should I actually try to DIY and which would it be better to send along to this guy, who I haven't used before, but I'm kinda tired of my local options.

Labor to replace the drive belts and upgrade to RS hub = $75
Labor to install Aero mirrors = $50 ( if you need a painter let me know, I have a good guy in San Rafael)
Labor to replace all four CV boots = $200 (4 CV boot kits = $40) $240 parts and labor
Labor to replace front ball joints and outer tie rod ends = $100 ( parts $240 ball joints, $100 outer tie rod ends) $440 parts and labor, Also I recommend getting an alignment performed immediately after this repair.
Labor to replace engine mounts = $50 (upgrade to genuine Porsche RS mounts parts $370 or Wevo mounts?)

Parts and labor to adjust valves = $260

sounds more than fair to me especially the valve adjustment.

^^Great. Might take a flyer on this guy and try him out. My PPI said my CV boots were toast, so I figure I would replace those (his cost per boot kit is pretty awesome, cheapest I could find otherwise was closer to $18/kit including shipping).

Without any issues on the steering front, would it be considered preventative maintainence to do the ball joints and outer tie rods? I was thinking of ordering the Elephant Racing items, but if these aren't necessarily important failure points, I'm not sure I want to fix something that ain't broke.
