Canadian cars use the fog lights to meet the requirement for Daytime Running Lights. They should come on with ignition but should then go off with headlights turned on until you then pull out the fog lights switch.

The part at pelican looks a bit different: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...=c&SVSVSI=0608

Is that what you guys are talking about? My '89 might have an older version.

Hey all, my 1990 964 coupe came with only one key. I want to get a new key, or perhaps two keys made.

I called my local Porsche dealer and they say they can sell me a new key head with integrated light, as well as the appropriate key blank. Is that what the 1990 came with new? Were both keys the same, or did one have a light and one not?

Does anyone know what keys the 964 came with originally?

Thanks!

I bought my 1990 Cabrio in 1992 from a dealer. The car came with a key with integrated light and also a secondary key (valet) that would open the doors and ignition but would not open the frunk nor glovebox. I personally, never used the valet key and just used the lighted key.

I’m a bit confused how could any key that let me into the car could prevent me from reaching down and opening the frunk

You can lock the hood release on a cab.

It might be the locks were changed at one time. They can be re pinned to all work together but you need to remove them to do so and have the proper pins to replace.

Is it possible they sold you a valet key only?

Is there a trick to install the front fender liner? Should I start from the top or botttom then work my way? I'm not sure if ham fisting it into place is the right way to go about it hahah!

i'm trying to install the front right passenger liner (covering the oil cooler) and I cannot seem to line up the right side of plastic with the bumper. The inner part of the plastic line up with the screw. I'm unsure if the rubber gasket on the inner portion is catching on something.

I always started mine by getting a couple of outer screws started then going around getting others to line up. A long straight pick can sometimes help. Also I am not sure if the order of which half is installed first. I think the rear half goes in first. Doing oil cooler work I’ll guess you didn’t rake off the back half.
Lastly don’t get ham fisted but oh maybe a little gentler
like a big turkey leg 😎
