Well done Hans. Let me know if you'd like a set tested in a '94 automatic. Don't really need to change, but I might be able to get them in quickly for a test.

Climate control? We already have motor mounts from Volvo that work brilliantly.

Jeff, you've asked that a few times in other threads, I'd contact Hans directly for a response.

Very nice Hans.

What CAD are you working in and how are you converting to PDF?

He is using solidworks. It natively makes PDF files

Actually, I am not using Solidworks right now. I have been using SpaceClaim. I kind of like it, take a bit of getting used to the quirks, but its a nice and affordable solution. Its a direct modeler, so I can easily modify drawings without a history tree.

Seems like most software will do a native 3D PDF export, even my cheap seat of Aliibre Personal does it.

Rod, I will try and get in touch with you tomorrow.

Thanks
Hans

Rod Kubis got in touch with me, and had some great ideas on how to make a less expensive version of the mount. It would reduce the machining cost significantly, and could even be a bit easier to service. It does remove some of the adjustability features, but would make retail price very competitive when considering Volvo mounts.

I see there being two versions of replacement mounts - a full "race" mount that would have provisions for height adjustment, complete with shims or drawings for shims, and then a simplified version of the mount, using the same inserts, but non adjustable set at stock height.

We are nailing out the details, but I am still committed to having physical prototypes next week.

Thanks
Hans

I have known Hans for some time and we have conversed about many issues on and off the forum. I have agreed to help him out with the engineering by doing some calculations for him and doing up the design. He should have prints by Monday and prototypes by the end of the week.

I do need stock motor mount height unloaded to finish this off if someone could get that, please.

Thats going to vary a bit. I have two different new versions at home I can measure.

What part for measurement? To the end of the threaded rod?

Need the bottom surface of the motor mount (where the mount touches the cross members) to the top (where it touches the engine block mount).

Also, How much the threads stick out of each end.

Tape measure when you place straight edges across said surfaces should suffice. (two rulers and a tape measure)

I am partial to millimetres, but am fluent in inch as well.
