An earlier post suggested the factory dealies may have been originally 80mm. That could be correct as I think the molded rubber can shrink over time sitting on the shelf. BTW, for $295 each from Porsche, I would make my own too. If you want to compare compression rates with stock put a spool between a stock mount and yours and squeeze them together on a press, taking measurements as you squeeze.

Hans.. I'm in for a set as long as it doesn't raise my engine like the Volvo mounts would.

Hello Hans,

Has the manufacturing of the motor mounts been put on ice? Is there not enough people interested?

Mattias,

For now, this project is on the shelf. There is one set of mounts out there, which I understand are doing fine. I was never able to get more than four other person to commit to a set besides myself, and the cost of machining at that low a volume would not be palatable. I think the bare minimum to get this off the ground will be 10 sets, and we really wouldn't see decent pricing until at least 15 sets.

Thanks though for your interest.
Hans

Hans,

I'm sorry to hear that there wasn't enough interest for this motor mount piece of art. Let's see if I can wait long enough until there is more interest, or I have to buy some other motor mounts.

Hans, sad to see the project didn't get enough interest....

How about tranny mounts, the Porsche price is just nuts and may be a bigger interest because there isn't a substitute like using the Volvo engine mounts.

Hans, do you ever post this stuff on the other 928 forums, or on the 928 Facebook pages?
Your ideas are always great. I hate to see them get shelved.

I'm thinking that people were laying back waiting to see how the original set worked out. More feedback would have stimulated more interest.

They are expensive to just make a bunch of free copies. That first set I gave away had over $500 in materials, let alone time. I would love to do larger alpha testing, but the budget is tight these days, and I cant subsidize projects like I used to.

I did get a couple more commitments this week, so getting quotes freshened up for 15 sets.

Thanks
Hans

I'm running the prototype Hans motor mounts in my '83 Euro S. To be honest I've never given them any thought since Stan(Merlin) installed them. I guess that's a testament to their effectiveness. Thanks to Hans for making them...........please make more.

I think with anything (and not busting on you, Hans) that is brought as a product idea here, there needs to be equal parts of genius applied to both the development and marketing.

Seems like most lacked the evidence to commit to buy AND more importantly install the MM without some form of feedback. Maybe I missed it but I think the absence of follow on "promotion" hurt.

I would love to have a set in my car, it seems like they will never fail once installed
