9m 1972 911S repair & restoration - back to original or not?

Hi Dave,
Good for you!
Although I thought against this ST conversion idea, it is your project and with the quality of the restoration being done by the crew at NineMaster, I seriously doubt it will devalue the car at all.
Can't wait to see the rest of the project come together and the final result.
Best regards,
Constantine

I'm just glad the decision has been made....... it's taken long enough!
Will it take another 12 months to decide the colour?

Well, the shell went to Surface Processing today as expected, so I guess all that is left is the long stand in the corner until we get the call to collect it....

A case of " hurry up , and wait ".
How long does the process take, do you have to wait til they get a batch of cars ? Someone said 3 weeks, what do they do with it for 3 weeks ?
And how is the body fixed for painting afterwards, how " finished " is it ?
The COLOUR will be .......... revealed here sometime soon !

After seeing this car lying out the back of Barry's for the last 10 years i'll be delighted to see it back to its former glory and hopefully Dave will give me a spin in it too.

Better than new!
How have environmental regulations increased the difficulty of doing work like this over the years? The stories we have to tell here in CA..........

To be honest Ken the biggest problem that was faced over the last few years was when PPG relocated the e-coating plant to China following a similar switch for the production of UK taxis. The guys at Surface Processing found another plant to use but it was not wide enough for cars, so a new method was deduced to process the shells on their side.
There are two actual plants, one for the acid dip & strip and the other for the e-coat. I guess they both have environmental issues but are still operational so can only assume that all health and safety requirements have been satisfied.
