Take my eye off the ball for 10 minutes and the guys only go and weld in the heater tubes before I get chance to take a photo...

So here they are levelling the panelwork with the modern equivalvent of lead: Upol-D aluminium epoxy filler. The guys have also used the Upol to fill in the rust dimples on the top of the rear parcel shelf; in spite of the fact that they will be covered up by the trim when finished!

Colin a Question, when it's finished will it be Waxoiled or given similiar anti corrosion treatment ?

Well, yes, but maybe not the outside. You might want to use Zymol on that?

A few large piles of filler dust on the floor followed by a darn good clean and before you know it the shell has been etched and primed. Looks good in grey Dave!

Wow!

I started at the beginning and just worked through this thread.

Amazing work - can't wait to see the final painted result.

Attention last week focussed on sorting out the floorpan ready for primer, unfortunately years of bashing the hell out of it on the tarmac rallies took its toll. On a concours build we might have considered replaced the panels, but with the benefit of a good few hours of panel beating and a little epoxy filler we managed to get it prety much there. To be fair I doubt that there would be any sense going further knowing the state of the roads in County Cork!

The little 911S obviously has good taste in companions; in front there is a 996GT2 shell having a full restoration/repaint in Speed Yellow, a 9m93GT2 Clubsport in E-coat awaiting paintwork, the 911S sideways on the spit and at the back we have a 911 2.8RS shell awaiting a major front end & roof repair.

After fettling the floor, the shell was wheeled back into the booth for priming.

So whilst Neil was busy painting, Rob attacked the wings with Scotchbrite to key the surface for priming and Owen got to work backdating one of the doors whilst the other one pickled with paint remover.
