I just recently got the 2012 C2S and would like to join some fun ride. I’ve ridden all these roads on motorcycles. Is there meeting point tomorrow or Monday?

haven't seen one posted. as the damn shipping company no-showed on fetching mine from the dealer in Florida, I'm just over here trying not to think about it, as I'll probably not see her till the END of my vacation now

that’s pretty irritating but hopefully it’ll arrive shortly. I’d have a decent amount of anxiety having a Porsche shipped. That’s why any subsequent 911’s I get I would like to try and make a vacation out of it by driving it home. Probably wishful thinking on both parts though lol.

I'm off work the next two weeks, so I’ve thought about it! But to put 3k miles on the car immediately would just suck. Plus cost of gas, hotels, etc. not an economically sound decision though god knows I’d love to hop a plane and fetch it myself!!!

just went though this myself. Shipped from TX via enclosed trailer but before was deciding between flying/driving home vs. shipping. I had the car within a week. Waiting makes it so long..

Thank you Karl and other contributors. Great tread just discovered.

I've been doing a pre-dawn triangle in Woodside since I purchased my C2 996 20 years ago. Up Highway 84, right on Skyline, right on Kings Mountain, repeat. Then a couple Laps on the Sand Hill / 280 cloverleaf, then to the pool to swim, then home just as the rest of the family is waking up. Starting out at 5 am, I never encounter cyclists or other unwanted vehicles. Someone said they loathe La Honda Road. At 5:30 a.m., in second gear, it's about as much fun as I've ever had alone. Doing this triangle on my 40th birthday 21 years ago, I encountered what initially appeared to be a very large dog on Skyline, a couple miles north of Alice's. As I slowed down, I realized it was an extremely ripped, bold, apex predator, ~150#. AKA mountain lion. If I had not been in my car, I am not sure what he would have done. Love my pre-dawn triangle.

Also, a plug for the road between Calistoga and Middletown. More banked turns and passing lanes and great pavement per mile than any road I know in California.

I'm a few miles away from Hecker Pass. Great drive out to the coast from the 101 and a short hop over to Margaritaville in Capitola. Highway 129 is also fun and you end up in the about the same place. You can then go north to Capitola or south to Moss Landing and end up at Phil's Seafood.

It is, in either direction. I usually go up 84 and down Kings, but the other direction is a nice change of scenery, so to speak. The super tight turns on Kings are a bit more fun for me going up than down. Also, with limited residential on 84, and virtually none on 80% of Kings, it's slightly more considerate throttling up Kings and quieter descent down 84, pre-dawn.
