Yeah, it's why If I went lucid route, I'd want to lease to be sage.

I drove a Taycan Turbo S last night. It felt like home and I really loved it. I was disappointed in the brakes, which had a ton of squish in them. Pedal travel before they did anything was awkward, especially after getting out of my 991 turbo S, where the brakes are incredible. Once you really stomped them, they were fantastic, but weird how much initial travel there was in the pedal.. other than that, fantastic car. Love the looks and feel. Though, doing lots of research online, reliability is certainly a concern of mine, especially considering the lack of an indy to work on it like I can have on my other p cars

seems like a solid play - I wish anyone buying one good luck.

product is literally flying off the shelves…
  • Distribution: Lucid operates a direct to consumer sales approach currently operates 38 Studios (Sales showrooms) and service centers in North America, 5 in Europe, and 2 in Saudi Arabia. In 2022, Lucid produced 2,811 more vehicles than they delivered, and in 2023, the number was 2,427. The excess production vs. deliveries over the past two years now amounts to 85% of the actual cars delivered in 2023. How this excess stock is being managed was not covered in the earnings report.
My acquaintance from cars & coffee has a lucid GT. He previously had a flying spur and Taycan Turbo ( 2021) he said the Lucid is the only car he would buy again. Said , the lucid air GT was the best overall car ever owned. The software is sufficient. The ride/ interior is luxury class, and the performance is outstanding. I’ve seen some really ugly looking ones and I’ve seen some absolutely beauties looking lucid’s … depends on colors.
With the business, I’m in, I was fortunate enough to have an extended 5 day test with one a few months back and came away quite impressed. I have a pic saved from another forum but couldn’t find it on my phone.
The pearl white with the black top is really nice. The Taycan looks better and has some better driving characteristics but the Lucid seems to be the better overall car. I have a Plaid but considering buying a Lucid demo/ inventory car. Saw on their website around 92K.They sold new for 145 just 2 years ago. Luxury EV market is brutal for all brands across the board.

Good luck with the drive there are some great deals and choices out there 👍

Interesting.

“Porsche Orlando, a Porsche dealership, is reportedly listed as the buyer. It’s unclear if the dealer plans to resale the vehicle on the lot or bought it for Porsche. It is common for other automakers to buy new Tesla vehicles when they come out in order to reverse-engineer them and learn from them.”

The Saphire will have its moment as king until early March, when the Taycan Turbo GT is announced... and you don't have to worry about whether Porsche will be around in a couple of years. I guess lightning could strike twice a la Tesla's success, but I seriously doubt it.

As long as a Saudi group has a 60% stake in Lucid….pretty sure they’ll be around.

Look at how that same Saudi group upended professional golf:

I wouldn't count my Saudi chickens... MBS spends money like a drunken sailor. He just had to borrow $11Billion to cover their budget deficit (oil prices down, spending up), and now they're selling more Aramco stock. If he's between throwing good money after bad with Lucid and continuing to build his 100 mile mirrored skyscraper in the middle of the desert, the long skyscraper to nowhere is winning.

Of course not.

They would count their camels, not chickens. 😎

Well, if you want to be technical about it, they would count their falcons... and then they'd rent out the entire first class section of a jumbojet to fly those falcons (but maybe that was before Lucid became a penny stock - maybe now they're stuck in business class).

I can one up you on that. Just read an article where the oil-rich Saudi’s are now flying chunks ice (from the Arctic) back to Saudi Arabia…to serve as ice cubes for the rich to cool their drinks.

Talk about the hight of irony. 😳

Lucid: just media rumors
They aren’t going anywhere for the foreseeable future.. The new SUV is coming out and they just added 3,000,000 ft.² to their massive Arizona building facility.
The best bet I would make about the future is the Stock will be taken private.

Yeah, Lucid is not going away.

There's too much R&D and engineering know how in that company to just let wither away, someone will either acquire it and take it private like you say, or it will be bought by another auto maker or conglomerate like Geely or Fiat.

Maybe, but will Geely or Fiat honor your warranty? Lucid sold 6000 cars worldwide in all of 2023, with almost 800 of those getting shipped to Saudi Arabia. Nobody is buying these cars.

I have no stake in Lucid, but, I do believe the more players there are, the better it is for the consumer. We, the consumer, benefit from competition in price and in technology development.
