I really like the Carrera T.
I had planned to do a write up comparison of the cars but I just havent had time yet.
But the one thing I can say is that for pure driving enjoyment, I have not found anything that compares to the 987 Spyder.....and I have owned many cars (GT4, (2) 996 GT3's, 997 GT3, (2)997 GT3RS's, 997 C2S, 987.1 Cayman S, 996 and 997 Cup cars, e90 M3, Macan Turbo, Cayenne turbo, 993 carrera, 986 Boxster S, another 987 Spyder that i regretted selling, 981 Cayman with 3.8 conversion, 996 C4, not in that order but just to get an idea of cars I have had). the 987 Spyder is simply unparalleled if you just want to go for a drive for the sensory experience. The Carrera T is a great car and it has its place. I have about 900 miles on the car in 3 weeks of ownership which is actually a lot for me on one car. It has many cool things about it and I enjoy it so far.

Our perspective is the same given that I have nearly the same ownership experience and most recently a 991.1 GT3. If you haven't done so, you should definitely try a 981 Spyder if you have a chance. It's the most fun driving experience on the street that I've encountered! Love mine!

Here's an opinion on my cars, as they are setup on STREET (ie canyons):
Spyder > 964 > 997 GT3RS > G series Carrera
Here's why: balance and good pace match with street, and the noise/experience.
My 997RS is pretty raw dog, and it's just too edgy really for the street but I love that car on the track, the balance and grip and noise and experience are near perfect for me
964 is close, but it's since and lack of power actually make it really enjoyable on the street
The spyder has amazing balance and good power delivery, and a suspension calibration that just seems "right"
The G, its just old, slow, heavy, and awesome. I love it, but for different reasons :-)

I have not. I had a GT4 though. I realize its not the same but the steering feel and feedback I would suspect would be similar.
However, I honestly think I also like the look of the 987 spyder better... I dont particularly love the rounded windows and the top design of the 981 in comparison to the 987.
I do have a deposit on the first slot for a 982 Spyder though.....

981 spyder best modern car on street I've driven.

I had a Carrera 3.2. I agree it felt heavy and slow. Drove my 69 911e today. That thing feels light and quick compared to the later G's, for some reason. Clearly it can't be quicker but it feels a lot lighter on its feet.

something the G body though, its just got this 80's rad thing going.

A well sorted and fully setup 964 will cost more than a spyder. You can see my build thread but mine is a bit more extreme. 964 stock is soft and boring. It’s too modern to get away like a g or Long hood can at being a bit soft. I feel same about 993.
But. Remove 3-400 lbs of crap. More aggressive seats. Completely replace the entire suspension. Great tires. Modern brake pads or full brakes like i have. Open up the exhaust. And you have a little canyon hot rod that hauls. Mine is really fun on track too.
Just know. To do all this right. Is not inexpensive.
Go go buy the one golfnutintib just posted. Try one out. Do you have or have you had an air cooled. They are awesome. But a different experience.
