Thanks, Ed!
Like I said, all this talk of shedding some pounds here and there is mental masturbation...
Ben's 'bloated' spyder was still kicking my 'lighter' spyder's *** at the track...
I'm mainly a fan of the PCCBs because you get larger brake calipers that look much nicer behind 19" wheels. Call me rice...
What happened to OP? He's been threadjacked...

You are not creating under steer during a spin or changing brake bias...
Do another course with him and ask more questions :-).
Or read more about slip angles and weight transfer.
Left foot braking helps the car get over understeer not causes it ....
Hence why a lot of race drivers tend to trail brake.
To save a spin you need a much more aggressive brake push to lock the front wheels at the point your slip angles have ...well slipped :-)
I would not try this if you don't get it, you will either have a much bigger spin due to the weight transfer or reck your gearbox.

This may be the craziest move I have made, i just put a deposit down on a 2012 Cayman R Black Black with carbon seats and 6 speed PSE, drove it around the block and it was more fun than the 991s... its no GT3 but Im tired of waiting on the 991 GT3, have a spot for one but it looks like a year away still.
I have always been a track guy so i hope all the Hype Ive read will come true, wish me luck!
Merry Christmas to me, all I wanted was a new Bell & Ross lol

1) You have developed a fear of speed
2) You have fallen on hard times financially
3) You didn't realize that the Cayman is not a real 911
![evilgrin](https://rennlist.com/forums/graemlins/evilgrin.gif)
As far as the Bell & Ross is concerned, it isn't as accurate as a digital watch.

I can only think of two reasons why you would make such a move:
1) You have developed a fear of speed
2) You have fallen on hard times financially
3) You didn't realize that the Cayman is not a real 911

Matt, your car resume is quite impressive and you are a good guy to get feedback from...With various cup cars, GT3 street cars, and other platforms/marques... So how does this one stack up so far?
Cayman has grown on me over the last 3 years, and I almost bought a well sorted 2007 S from Eric at Hergesheimer Racing Gruppe when I found my GT3. Still think that car, for the money was just as good a car, especially with all the fixes they made to that platform. I've always thought that was the one that "got away".

great car!!!! will be a lot of fun... I wont pass any judgement, yet, .. i havent had the time to push it or drive it on track yet.. I know in=t need more from=nt end brake Bite... I notice a lot of torque induced steer to the left.. but its a fun easy car to drive.. very neutral and simple to many of my past cars.. need lil more power, but still a great coffee getter.. I have enjoyed so far,... and the look really growing on me...
I feel the 911 may become a GT car soon... i sure miss the 996 Gt3 with now aides and the feel you got from the seat..
And for Dave... looking at a Ducati 1198s... still have a 1:54 car and a 1:58 car @ vir... fear of speed really not the issue Mike Knows the cars

i am well.
no bashing, i love the mid engine platform, had the first caymans s up nor cal. tracked the **** out of it. you are right, need another 100 hp.
and you are right again on GT3 turning into a giant sofa..
u should find another 6gt3 and keep it.
i am looking for a cherry 6gt3 as well.
bell and ross? that's for insecure men.
get a real watch
panny for DD and ALS for show, or maybe a IWC BP.

Hey Matt - congrats on the car looks pretty freakin' awesome! I just picked up a 981 boxster s with sport suspension with PSE and I have to say it is the most fun I've ever had in a street car! I'm assuming it's similar in feel to your Cayman R and agree with your comment about the 991. Test drove a 991S and yes it's a faster car but there's just something about the feel and the sound of the boxster with PSE and the top down. This is my first Porsche so who knows - maybe I'll become a Porsche guy yet...
Hope you enjoy your new car!
Barry
