I serious doubt that extra clear coat was applied. But if that is the case, then super sweet. Zero orange peel generally means it was wet sanded. I suggest borrowing a paint meter just to jot down the paint thickness. Even diehard detailing junkies are often reluctant to wet sand the car, because you'll have much less clear coat to play with. We usually just buff the crap out of it (compound, polish/glaze etc) and hide as much as we can.

Porsche paint is usually at least 4 to 5 mils thick. I doubt anyone wet-sanded the door jab or the top of A pillar, check there. Wet
sanding ending with 2500 grit would definitely take out at least half a
mil to a mil. But unless you plan on doing a full paint correction
detail every other month, you still has plenty to play with.

Conversely, if extra clear coat was sprayed, it will probably be near
8-9 mils thick. Anyhow, again, you should jot it down, that's info
that can be beneficial to your detailer.

Someone correct me if I am off.

When using the paint meter, how do you know how much of the measured thickness is paint vs. clear coat?

Well, I might not be the most knowledgeable on this. I am not a professional detailer, just a guy who is ocd with a orbital buffer. But from my understanding, OEM paint is around 4 to 5 mils thick, with clear coat being about 1.5 to 2 mils of that.

The paint meters I've used registered with mils. I think meters that measures by microns are probably more accurate, because the units are smaller. 100 microns are about 4 mils. Generally, when I see a car with more than 5 mils, I will bet that it has paint work. Visa versa, when I see a car with less than 4, I bet that it was sanded, and extra caution should be given when detailing it, ie I wouldn't use an angle grinder with a wool pad, rubbing compound, and go to town.

I didn't have time to read through it, but I did a search too

Here are some shots I took of my Spyder today after a cleaning:

Wheels w/ Cayman R finish:

Decal on the wheels:

Speaking of decals, my car has zero in the hatch area and is missing the two smaller bumpers that secure the Top when not in use.

Notice how spotless the interior hatch is and how high the gloss is.

I only snapped a few close up and will take better photos tomorrow.

This one has been available for some time... The damage on the passenger headrest is from the original owner using a child booster seat.

Those are both really nice options. I know a few people here on Rennlist who are looking for these combo's. Should sell quick IMHO.

No a/c is a tough sell, although I bet only a handful were built with no a/c

The passenger seat in the black car is all jacked up. Warrenty work is a must on that I hope.

The black Spyder seems to be in very good shape from what I could tell. Well, except the passenger seat... yeah, what's up with that? Good eyes, Plavan.

A very helpful and informative forum member pointed me to that black Spyder when I was searching. I seriously considered it when the price was $5,000 greater. Ended up not buying it because of lack of bi-xenons and because I wanted a CW Spyder. Well, I didn't really like the communication I had with the salesman either, if I'm honest...

Lack of AC can certainly be undesirable (red Spyder). When I think about it though, I rarely use AC when I drive my S or Spyder...

The original owner used a child car seat which damaged the headrest. The dealer said they would fix it, but the question is how.

Yeah, we all know that the dealer will tell you 'anything' to sell the car....
