Vivek Congratulations!

My personal opinion of the Spyder is that it's is one of the best (if not the best) Street Cars and a very competent track car. Hopefuly Donavan installed the sports exhaust before you bought it. If he did you will find the top down driving is absolutely fantastic with incredible sounds, just enough air flowing into the cabin and of course the telepathic handling. Looking forward to getting your impressions after you drive it for a bit.

Enjoy in good health!

I can't believe Cayman got rid of the Riviera Spyder. He spent more days counting down the arrival of the car than owning it.

Vivek, nice fleet of cars. Congrats on the purchase.

+1. There's got to be a story behind it. 2 spyders come/gone in less than a year...

I don't think there is anything unusual or strange about this 'story'. When Cayman decided to sell his 'Carrara White' Spyder, he explained on the forum that it was for financial reasons since he couldn't afford two cars and the Spyder was not practical enough for all of his needs (windsurfing, etc).

Earlier this year (in March), Cayman tried to order a PTS Spyder and was shot down by PAG, who objected to his various color choices until the deadline passed and it was too late to order one. I think when he later discovered that a 'Riviera Blue' Spyder was ordered on spec by Walter's in Riverside, he just couldn't pass it up. As founder of Spyda, he knew the value of these rare PTS Spyders. So he pulled the trigger and had it at least for a few months. Good for him, I say. And I don't think there is nothing else to this 'story'.

Personally, I think Cayman sold the 'Riviera Blue' Spyder too cheap. I would have insisted on a higher figure - MSRP of nearly $80K, shipping to Oregon, clear bra, plus the Sport Exhaust he kept from his earlier Spyder! Instead, Cayman asked, and sold it, for only $75K. That was very generous of him. I think it was a great deal for the buyer!

My only concern now that he no longer owns a Spyder is that the Spyda website be kept current. We will have to wait and see. I hope that is the case.

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Saludos, z356 (Carmel)

I agree

I hope he gets another Spyder when the "time is right"
plenty of low mileage Spyders out there and a few unsold new ones

That blue matches the Spyder nicely. These will be very collectible in no time.
