This is miami blue but looks very close to Riviera blue from pictures i have seen online. I am thinking Riveira blue with Black Wheels and black LEDS. Mexico is a bit darker. Those pictures show bright colours would suit the GT3 .. Any thoughts on that ?

https://www.autogespot.com/porsche-9...kii/2017/07/26

Would any one consider satin Aluminium wheels with Rivira blue ?

Yes to Riviera with Satin Aluminum! Mexico IS a shade deeper, with hint of green, but not so green as Miami Blue.

Well I think, V180 is factory review and 110 is just PCNA- which goes along with what we have heard about the new ZPT process. PCNA will hold them and review and then approve or not.

What I heard today was a week to 10 days I should have a better idea.

I was going to send them something more, but it will probably go to the wrong person! I think there is some lower level production scheduler playing Tetris with the allocations and colors...

You can ask them to look back in the history and they can tell. Not that it matters, V110 is where you need to be right now.

How about a smidgen then -- either that or the samples at the dealership can't be relied upon. Certainly, the paint on the car above doesn't show any such hint or smidgen. I'll try to take a pic next time at the dealership of the two (Riviera and Mexico) to show what I'm seeing.

Update - turns out I already had it. And I don't see the green here as I remembered - lighting is everything so perhaps the lighting is to blame, or my eyes need to be checked. From the left: Riviera, Mexico, Voodoo.

Wow! They all look like the same base hue with different amounts of white (or tint).

Default Report that PCNA has started giving out PTS slots on .2 991 gt3

Received today a pm from a Rennlister based in US with the
following information:

"Got a quick call today from my SA, PCNA approved my PTS
request for my GT3. The request went in when PCNA asked
(I think it was 7/18). MY SA had very few details, he said PCNA
is still working them out. My car will now slide to a spring
production or possibly later (originally was to be built in Nov).
He said some options will not be available, one I had was the
external head light covers painted in external color. We will
need to do that locally if I still would like to go that route.
My dealer did not have any other request so we don't know
how widespread the approvals are. I would think somebody
would have posted today, but didn't see anything.
"

If this is confirm by others, it tells us PAG has created a new
procedure for the allocation of the limited PTS slots in the .2
991 gt3. There will NOT be a PTS Window where PTS is served
to the first come until they run out of slots. Looks like PCNA
has been told & allocated an unknown number of slots from
PAG. And PCNA will decide what dealers (and perhaps even
the specific customer
) that will get PTS!

We still do not know if the PTS powers-to-be at PAG have
determined the number of PTS slots for just the current crop
of .2 991 gt3 allocations...or for the entire production run.

One thing to remember is that by announcing at this early
date (end of July!) the lucky PTS winners, PAG technically
will be able to start the PTS paint ordering process right
away & the first PTS .2 991 gt3 might be built in three
months time. So, in principle, deliveries of PTS .2 991
gt3s could start as early as November 1st, 2017! The fact
that his dealer told him this meant that production will
'slide' from Nov 2017 to sometime in Spring 2018 perhaps
translates into that PAG is going to bunch up PTS later in
production like they did with PTS .1 991 gt3 RS in Spring
of 2016.

If that is so, the 'silver cloud' in that is that PAG will have
to fill those slots previously scheduled in the Fall for those
electing to get PTS in late Spring 2018. And that means
new .2 991 gt3 allocation slots (in standard colors only)
will shortly be handed out by Porsche dealers all over the
world!

Thanks for sharing the facts as always, Eduardo!

Though what you failed to mention is that PTS in the US is now a $9,270 option!!

Yes- I just called and they told me my allocation is also moving to a spring production with European delivery in June- still to be confirmed since it was in process when I called. I didn't hear about any options not being available, so we will see. I have been disappointed so many times that I won't truly believe it until it is V200, but so far really good news! Thanks for the heads up Eduardo- also rec'd a PM from Mech33 who also heard this news. Great job guys!!

Wow, that's a big jump. I just saw online the Turbo PTS was $6960. Is it more for the GT cars?

Any facts to support the PTS price will be higher than the $6960 charged for Turbo S?

Yes, I did not mentioned it today. But many of
may recall that I predicted on this forum many
months ago that I expected the cost of PTS for
the .2 991 gt3 to be substantially higher than for
normal PTS in a regular 991.
I reasoned that if
PAG charged its VIP 911R customers quite a bit
more for PTS in that model (vs PTS in a regular
991), they would NOT be shy in asking their .2
991 gt3 customers to open up their wallets a
little bit wider for PTS in that model too!

So if it can be confirmed that PTS on this gt model
now indeed cost US$9,270, it truly doesn't surprise
me one bit!

But I'll say this. If PAG would allocated considerable
more PTS slots than those allowed on the .1 991
gt3 & .1 991 gt3 RS, then I believe the trade-off
of a higher price but a lot more PTS slots is worth
it!

But if on the other hand we find out that PTS slots
are equal in % as those previously allocated to the
.1 991 gt models yet the price of PTS has now almost
double, that to me would simply abusive, unfair &
discriminatory to Porsche's loyal gt customers!

We will know soon enough if PAG has increase its
PTS slots. For now we are fairly sure they are making
the option a lot more expensive for gt buyers!

For those interested in the history of PTS pricing
at Porsche, below is a repost of something I wrote
back in December of 2016!

Well, let's see the history of pricing in 'Special' & PTS at Porsche
to see if it sheds any light on Porsche's thinking as they priced
these color paint options!

****
Back in 1958, Porsche was charging $26.20 for 'Special Color',
not to be confused with PTS which was also available but harder
to find its price back then (it was rarely ordered):

***
By 1970, when my current 'Crystal Blue' 911E Targa was built & invoiced,
the cost of 'Special Color' had gone up to a whopping $185.00! Again,
PTS was available...but I don't have the cost handy! It couldn't have been
much!

***
By 2007, 'Special Color' had gone up in cost to $3070 in the 997. They
had five such colors - starting with 'Slate Grey Metallic' to 'GT Silver
Metallic'. And PTS was barely $1000 more - $4315! That is what was
paid for my 'Signal Green' color code W25 paint on my MY2007 997S!

In retrospect, more people should have been interested in PTS at such
low pricing. Yet, there was no such 'rush' even at these 'bargains'!

***
With the start of the 991/981 era, Porsche raised the price of
'Special Color' to $3,140 and Paint to Sample to $5,550! Now
that was a very interesting bump in price for PTS. That is what
I had to pay for the PTS 'Signal Green', color code 22S, on my
'15 991 gt3.

***
Just recently Porsche raised the price of PTS to $6,950 on the 991,
but left it at $5,500 for the 981/718. The price rise coincided with
what Porsche has called an unprecedented interest & demand for
PTS. I wondered if we played even a small part in that here at
Rennlist?

'Special Color' pricing is still $3140 on the 991.2 and $2,580 on the
718.

For comparison sake, here are the prices for the other Porsche
models:

Model / Special Color / PTS
Macan / $3120 / $6515
Cayenne / $3140 / N/A
Panamera / $3300 / N/A but perhaps $9K+

Does the larger Panamera use $160 more paint than the
991 or Cayenne? But why is PTS on the Panamera reportedly
so much more expensive?

***
On some other recent models, PTS had been even
more expensive. It was around $23000 for basic
one-color PTS on the 918 Spyder. More for the
Chrome special paints ($63+). And two or more
color PTS ($100+).

https://rennlist.com/forums/porsche-...r-stories.html

My understanding is that PTS on the few 911R
allowed with this option was slightly more than
the current $6,950 on the basic 991! And it
probably wouldn't had changed the equation
if PTS on this Limited Edition would have cost
double that amount!

****
So that is some of the history of 'Special Color'
and PTS pricing at Porsche. What can we learn
from it? Well, you tell me. But let me just say
that when PTS was cheap (as recently as in the
997.1 era), it was rarely ordered. As it became
more popular (and I have a theory why, in part,
this came about!
) the cost of PTS increased.
Yet the demand, even at the higher price, exceeded
the ability of PAG to meet it, in particular with its
expensive gt3, gt3 RS, gt4, 911r & Boxster Spyders.
So where is the price elasticity of PTS at Porsche today?
We will continue on this topic at a future date in 2017!
