It's funny, I've been offered 9972RSs for years and never liked them or cared

I think the 997 does appeal to a slightly different market than the 991

Does anyone know if that insane red interior is standard or we can swap it out with something that doesn't offend my eyes?

the sound in the vids is rather poor, not much better than the turbo S. god, i love my GT3RS, even at 200hp less::))) i am totally convinced that the 488GTO (moniker used for VS) will sound much better. and it might even be faster::))

Ahh, another wicked cool Porsche that 99 percent of us won't even be offered the opportunity to purchase. Exciting news.

You are probably right, but then again with all the new information coming for GT2 as general rule will be even more recognized and "on top" for some time. And let's not forget that all GT2s always were the most powerful 911 at their premier

Would be interesting to see what % of hopeful buyers on RL intend to spec the Weissach package. Time for a poll? Would also be nice to see how many are still interested now that details and pricing are official.

I'd start one myself but I don't know how....

Love it. Beautiful car and it has to be a complete monster to drive. 700hp, RWD, PDK-S, aero, cooling, CF bits. A rocketship on 4 wheels. E-ticket ride for sure.

So, as discussed somewhat above, I believe this is Porsche's test strategy to stop the supply/demand imbalance and flipping insanity to determine to the true market for a high-priced GT P-car with no caps. Price at $300K base, say production is not limited per se, and see what happens in this current market.

I could be 100% off base, but Sonnen Porsche above saying they have 18 deposits for the GT2 RS, and will be lucky to get 5, I really wonder how that will play out if/when all 18 people are told, "Yep, come in and spec out your $300k base Porsche 911 super car and everyone that wants one will be able to get one, so guess what? The car will DEPRECIATE."

How many of those 18 people will drop off like flies hitting a bug zapper if they know the car will potentially be susceptible to standard 911 depreciation curves but on a larger total value hit due to the high price. How many people will really want to buy a $300k optioned GT2 RS if it's going to be worth $200k in a few years due to normal depreciation curves and not a limited supply?

Not saying that is going to happen, but Porsche seems to be implying it won't be limited production. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. Maybe it'll be automatically limited by guys who decide to NOT plunk down $300k+ on a 911.

Take a look at regular 911 models and see how that depreciation curve eats the value out of a new 911 after a few years.

I'd love a 991.2 GT2 RS, but I'd also love a 488, 720S, etc. There are a ton of very hot rides in the $300k+ category.

After 918 lesson with Weissach package I guess there will be more buyers interesting in this option -> all the 918 Weissach are now more valuable than the price difference was at that time and what is even more Important it is not possible to add this option any time later, but at the order

Inflation-adjusted $USD MSRPs:

996 GT2 - $255,000
997 GT2 - $227,000
997 GT2 RS - $266,000
991.1 GT2 RS - $294,000

Used the BLS website for these numbers and the date of the first deliveries to the US. Obviously, there are many other factors to consider, but the price isn't completely exorbitant. The competition at this price is much more intense than it was in the past - for my money, I'd rather a base 720s or a Performante all day. Most can't reasonably take advantage of performance numbers; driving experience and design are paramount. 294k for a new car with NACA ducts really bothers me.
