If they areselling for over MSRP then they are not overpriced at their selling price
But are they selling , seems like to me there are lots of Rs's on the market but are not flying off the showroom floor particularly since spring has hit thus prime new toy buying season
Just my observation
They are not selling! I became interested in the 991.1 RS and the Audi R8 V10 plus (not selling either) and started following several (4) cars on Cars.com. Sent emails and talked to dealers.
My evaluation was that some of the Porsche dealers paid a lot on their RS and they hope can sell it without a loss. They are not very happy or willing to go down on prices still hoping for someone with a big valet. I felt some frustration talking to the dealers. All were willing to negotiate 5-6K on the RS-s. But not much more. All except one said they call me back if the car is not selling within 2 months, although still stated that not willing to go down as much as I suggested.
Audi dealers feel more market glut on the R8 V10 plus. A few are delusional however. In general 5-6% is easy to get, some on Audi forum got 10% off or more. The best I got was -15K on 2017 car already on the lot for months.
I am still undecided about my 650s, that's why all the dealer calls.

It's the same boat that some dealers are in with 993s, 993TTs, and Testarossas right now. They got into the cars for too much money, and many (whether it's based on pride or profitability or whatever) accept that the market for certain cars has slowed, while at the same time being unwilling to sell for those 'new' market prices. It's like a stalemate.
Three different shots of my Maritime Blue (color 38B) Carrera. Maritime was standard offering on the early 90's 911 and a standard color offering on the 968 CS (not offered stateside).
