I wet sanded and wiped down the entire car again, then shot it with a second coat of 2k epoxy. Vacuumed out the interior and replaced all of the fuses with new, after cleaning both contacts for each.
It all started when I noticed coolant under the car and decided to finally replace the 29 year old radiator with 928 Motorsport unit; then while I was in there - replaced the water pump, timing belt, dialed in the cams and upgraded to a Porkententioner, new seals, all new drive belts & hoses. Also sent out the MAF to be recalibrated. Today I did the final bolt-ups, filled her with coolant up and fired up the 928 S4. I'm very happy to say there were no leaks and after a good warm-up, she pulls like a freight train!

, from what I read here on scheiscolist, not too many 928 owners actually drive their cars, congratulations.
...ps, yesterday , as I passed an oncoming county sheriff, I didn't wait while he turned around.
Not a perfect match but not bad. Guess I should clean the old leather to get the color closer. Anyway, replacing a couple bad panels is a reasonable thing to do if you try to budget for non-essentials for your old cars. Funny but you don't think about seats making the car feel better but it does. Gained a healthy respect of upholstery installers. Putting the skins back on was a bit of work. Just one more off the list of deferred repairs. :cheers
Out of winter sleep today and driven for first time in 6 months. While car was up I noted a screw in a brand new front tire. Plugged it for now. Also today installed Greg's alternator.
I picked up a 5sp transaxle and a bunch of miscellaneous parts with my 3 cylinder Geo Metro, I'm going to guess that's never been done before
The gentleman said this was a 928 roof rack but I don't see anything like this while searching. It is tubular aluminium construction, very light weight. Any ideas?
Beautiful spring day in New England, hit 78 degrees. Cleaned the GT and took it out for a spirited run and hit 40,000 miles to kick off this years driving season.
Replaced an axle after disintegrating the outboard CV ...
Damned combination of, sticky tires, hard 1 - 2 shift, comp clutch and Boost...
Somethings got to give...
Lesson learned... lol
I timed the cams using the PK32 V'r but wanted to check with you guys whether on not I can crank it over with the 14 pin connector and the other harness behind the power steering reservoir disconnected. Alternator is still under the car on a bucket and none of the belts are on. Plug wires off along with caps and rotors. I would also pull fuse 42 for the fuel pump. What do you think?

Fixed some intermittent problems with my driver's side seat movement and the seat/mirror memory switch backlighting [see details]. Annoying to have to waste a lot of time on that.
(Executive summary: bad solder joints in power seat control unit 928.618.134.02).
Sorry, something like this really shouldn't pass QA:
'Tis the season, alright. Are the connections different on older models? I charged mine yesterday, after refitting a new compressor, drier and expansion valve. Low pressure (blue) is inconveniently under the radiator hose near the jump post. Clumsily got a freeze burn on my right hand, which made the hot water burn less noticeable.

Looks to be, on the 80 my high pressure is under the passenger intake tube on the fender and the low pressure is by the condenser
good to see I am not the only one with bad hood shocks.
Finally got that last bolt out of the water bridge. 3 weeks of penetrating oil and tapping with a hammer. So what I thought was a bad gasket on the filler neck ended up to be a breather hose. Doing an upper end refresh anyway, I was just surprised.
