OFFICIAL NEWSROOM 991.2 GTS announcement THREAD - 450HP

I have been toying with moving to a .2 GTS, love the extra torque and speed, but I have decided against it for the following reasons, in order.
1. The sound (not even close to the .1)
2. 20% smaller engine
3. Rear grill is not distinctive like on the .1
4. I really dislike the fake opening in the front fascia.
5. New wheels are nice, but I prefer the .1
( I would love to have front axel lift and RWS)
Anyone else??

I don't give a damn how much faster the new iteration slays the Green Hell. That's Marketing propaganda in a desperate search to create the need for their latest product.

I would argue this indicates the move to turbos has been successful Moreover, the ring time is tremendous - I'm not surprised they are blasting it out there.
All enthusiasts benefit if the "marketing" drives more sales - win -win and to be fair there are many who would acknowledge the 991base - S - GTS were underdone relative to the price point and competition.

Not moving due to 1 and 2 given that it's turbo. One turbo motor in the family is enough. Nobody is prying the 3.8L free breathing GTS from my hands.

The low down torque would be nice to have. But then again, the need to rev the engine on the NA's makes it that bit different and I think that is what people love about the 911 - it does not follow!
Overall, you can't go wrong with any 911....if you own one you know it!

I don't think that is the case, 911 sales are up by at least 10% in the US and closer to 15% in Australia (in Jan 2017, relative to Jan 2016).

I noticed the new seats but a bit puzzled by it, based on the pics from the configurator the outside edge of the bolsters is still leather... which is a bit odd as considering (in my car at least) the bottom right/outside edge of the driver's side seat bolster shows the most wear.
Net is don't expect the new alcantara seating to do anything to improve seat wear... my 2 cents.

Vise: I'm referring to the bottom bolsters. Do you have a picture of outside edge you're referencing?
R_Rated: What the hell are you putting in that car to get to $174k? I just build my dream GTS (PCCBs, LEDs and all) and come up to less than $150k. In fact, my C2S config was coming up to almost the same.

I just noticed that the .2 4GTS adds 155 lbs over the 2GTS. In the .1, it was 99 lbs. Did they make any changes to the awd system or is this just a "correction" to the initial weight differential?

It seems like now we have new kinds fiber plastics replacing metal, synthetics replacing oil, etc., but nothing replaces leather for shoes, belts, baseballs and sitting on.
