I'm not surprised this car hasn't sold in spite of its very rare color!
I missed this car on craigslist in Chicago by 20 minutes for 3k when it first hit a couple years ago (not so sure if this is same car but it sure looks like it - not sure it's been a TX car it's whole life). Then offered by the current seller, we went back and forth and he finally offered it to me for 10.5k. I still should have grabbed it but couldn't stomach paying the premium to this joker as he was kind of a d!ck as Chuck mentioned (should have put emotions out of my head and paid the price as it was still a great price in hindsight). Has been bouncing up and down in price since then, mostly up. One of the best colors ever for a 928 in my opinion, and seems like a great car, but would certainly need a set of eyes on it in person to evaluate the paint at anywhere near the current price.

There was a yellow 1980 for sale on Chicago Cragislist that I saved. It had higher mileage and a pin stripe, he was asking $4,500.

I was caller #3 on that one, the first call bought the car.

I think an owner of an early car can easily be fooled by the odometer. In 1999 I bought a one owner '78 5 speed from a physician. It looked very nice and the odo read 98,000. He said that was actual miles. It took me several months to notice that the odo would stop and go on its own whim. I would have testified under oath that the odo was accurate prior to realizing that it wasn't. I suspect the good doctor had now idea. And we know that the gear begins to slip and they often stop completely. The owner then knows that the mileage shown is not accurate.
My current '78 reads 134,xxx and records seem to confirm that. There is a sticker on the door however, reporting a replacement at 9,xxx miles. OB odometers are a very unreliable lot.
But, I also think that seat has seen more that 40K of use. My "98,000" mile seat looked better.

That Talbot is a very interesting car. Chuck's observations are good though. There seems to be some panel figment issues going on, especially with hood and rear hatch, and the lower part of the front bumper cover. Still, worth digging into with this rare combination.

I remember the pinstripes and thought the seller here removed them and was the same car. But like I said I'm not 100% on the details as it's been a while. Wish I had been the #1 caller way back then though, as my Talbot car needs full resto (but it is a '78 Euro )

Exact pinstripe pattern that's on mokka (tape) Wonder if there was a dealer kit of some kind?

There was a company named Trimline in the 70s and 80s which supplied all kinds of stripe kits to the trade. They may still be around. Many Firebird, sport vans etc had their products on them
