history as in number of owners? accident is a no brainer i will never consider one with accident history unless it's like half off.
Is dealership service history super important when it comes to low mileage porsches? i know it is critical to ferraris
I'd start with a carfax... Number of owners, documentation of services in carfax, obviously any accident reports, ownership in areas with recent history of flood damage, excessive tire changes (possibly indicating the car being a track ****) and/or the occasional other carfax strangeness all would indicate the need for a bit more due diligence.
What color combo is it? Dealer or private party?
Also, IMHO Carfax accident reports aren't always deal-breakers or even require huge discounts if the damage and repairs are well documented and limited to something like the bumper cover or light assembly. eg: Just looked at a 997.2 that had a carfax accident reported, but the owner had full documentation of the damage and repair. It was a parking lot puncture of the rear bumper cover, it was replaced, total cost of repairs under $1,000 and no paint work other than the bumper cover Worth as much as a zero damage car? certainly not, but I'd put more like a 10% adjustment for that type of damage, certainly not 50%. Also, that kind of repair is much less of an issue if you plan on keeping the car 5+ years vs a year or so and flipping it.
