To the OP: I'm sorry to hear about the unfortunate experience you've had with your car. It sounds like you've got the right approach to this (mentally) in moving forward now that you're breaking in your new engine and trying to enjoy your 996.

There have been a lot of assumptions made by people posting in this thread but, as KC and others have noted, it can't hurt to collect all of the facts from the threads, your dealings with KK (including any bill of sale) and reach out to a lawyer willing to take your case on a contingency basis to get their thoughts on a potential claim.

Good luck!

I think "she made me dumplings" will become Rennlist-speak for something else entirely.

Was back at Mizzou over the weekend for my fraternity alumni weekend. Always good to get back to a college town and see all of the pretty young dumpling makers out on a nice spring afternoon.

brings back memories of me and one of my old girlfriends - feeding her dumplings unleashed her inner passion.

I have previously stated my condolences and empathy for the buyer's situation.

For those who continue letting their hatred for KK drive their logic, when speaking to the lawyer, don't forget to start it all off with "I drove the car for over 1 1/2 years, putting on 7K miles".
It will save the lawyer a lot of time in making his/her decision whether to take the case.

Any good lawyer will blow right past the vast negative emotions shown by the loud and internet-surly clique that somehow has been given the latitude by the moderators to dominate many of the Pelican threads, making much of this site their personal Facebook account.
The conclusion will be No Case. Sorry.

BUT, since this thread has now been protracted due to the KK animosity, why not crank this up a notch. I propose a collection be made for the buyer's benefit, and I challenge the loudest proponents for a legal case to be the first to put their money where their emotions lie.

Doubt if there will be any takers.
Typical Internet huffers.

Wow, angry much? Thank you for making my point about assumptions.

I don't believe I've ever commented on KK one way or another in all of my years participating on this forum and, in fact, generally avoided most of his threads since they were of no interest to me. Moreover, nothing in the post you quoted suggested any hatred of him. I would have offered the same advice to anyone who purchased a car from someone under similar circumstances.

And, while I have no interest in engaging in a legal discussion, I'm not sure what most of your comments have to do with whether or not the OP has a claim for fraud or misrepresentation under Texas law. In fact, ignoring the morass of emotional content in all of these threads (including your own), it seems clear to me that nobody here has the full set of facts about what happened. Despite this, as KC and a few others have suggested, there is enough information to suggest that something funky (yes, that's my own legal term) may have happened; funky (and expensive) enough to the OP that it might warrant a conversation with a lawyer -- one who would be privy to the whole story before drawing any conclusions.

The OP can do what they want. And you, too, can feel free to angrily dismiss the recommendations based on ignorance and misunderstanding. It make no difference to me.

you got bad case of poopy pants

you just don't seem to get it - if you bothered to read thru the hundreds of posts from KK, you would clearly see that he dug his own hole - plain and simple. he constantly degraded the 996 and attempted to "bait" us when he posted the imploding of his engine and chances are it was caused by his sub-par IMS replacement "part" which he never disclosed to seller....now KK won't respond to sellers requests for some sort of communication??

i take offense to that because all of us here have integrity and try to be as forthright as possible - so why don't you just F_ck off and go play somewhere else. get a clue prior to making yourself look like such an angry clueless a-hole
