Best of luck with the bodywork G

Steve - engine strip down sounds like a nightmare so kudos for completing it. :-)

Thanks. I learned that the UK climate is not as kind to cars as that of much of the US, here is what 25 years exposure here does. Balance belt had snapped, I picked out remnants just before the shot. Strip down was not fun as I said.

I also just spotted a fossilised insect.

OK so here we are now, taken a few weeks ago, everything on the front of the engine is new including the water pump, belts and rollers. Tension on the balance belt being set using an Arnworks tool. You will notice I’ve done nothing much to the distressed crank pulley beyond some Jizer, not being a concourse type, to do so would absorb time I don’t have and add nothing to the engineering. Mind you I do like the look of the new red silicone going on. Worth a few bhp of course.

Another couple of pics showing what’s going on. HT Howard of Slough head work, and an alternative view of the belts showing the new tensioner all set up,

If you think this is rusty check out the Limoncella post in the 993 forum where someone recovered a 993 from a river where it has sat for years and is bringing it back to life... :-o

Thanks.
Yea the new chromate bolts are probably going to add power, I couldn’t resist doing plenty of re-bolting.
I guess it qualifies as a true improvement if it actually runs in the Spring 😀.

G - looking good! It's always exciting getting the pictures from the body shop. I have some good ones from when I got the M3 sprayed.

Cheers, it’s the waiting that’s hardest, can’t wait to get behind the wheel again. She’s my daily driver - and I want to drive her every day!
