Anyone used 9xx for rebuilt motor? Seems like a "good deal" at $7500US with 12 month/12,000 miles warranty and free shipping/installation for a 3.4 long block???
Yep, I think the garage cleaned it before the sale. Unfortunately its dirty on the inside!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks to me the engine was pulled and major work was done not that long ago. It's way too clean to be just cleaned for the sale. Even parts that are unacessable are shiny. Look how dirty the transmission is compared to the entire engine.

Correct, bills for $5k came with the car which was one of the reasons I bought it! Head gaskets and heat exchanger, so out of the car for sure.

The head gaskets never go on these engines. Something else was failing and the shop/dealer just buttoned it up to sell it to an unsuspecting buyer (you).
My guess is that the head cracked and the engine was driven to the point where fixing it to last, wasn't possible. The shop replaced/repaired the head, replaced the heat exchanger and then it went up for a quick sale. I would confront the dealer and look into small claims court too.
I'm curious as to who did the work around these parts...
It was VAG Motorsport.
My French is crap, so I should get it checked out just to make sure I have correct information. The heater core plus Gasket de tete 1-3 and 4-6 yeah head gaskets and heater core.
Bill was for $5717 (with taxes).
Not sure if it was these guys, but there is a load of swarf (metal shavings) over top of engine now its pulled out.
Regards court, I think that boat has sailed and problem is all mine!!!!
No pics, car is not at home and I did not get any unfortunately. I may be paying it another visit next week, so if the block is still in one piece I will take some then. Just wierd.
