Thanks folks. I had a bit of a set back with a cough but it is being looked after now. The clinic I went to was a bit nuts and wanted to do a full physical over a cough and did not care about what I went through. I got a bit firm with them and they have prescribed an antibiotic that is working well. I finally slept the whole night for the first time since Feb 8th!!! Getting stronger ....

Thanks folks!!!
More happening this week regarding Radiation and surgery. Right eye not closing properly and needs a bit of corrective action and the sling in my mouth protecting the graft is still in there. The Dentist was very happy with my recovery as well as the visiting nurse. She is amazed at how well I have gotten. For me it's I want to get better and get back to normal. I hate being sick!!!

Update: Doctors are very happy with my recovery so far. I am healing fast and slowly getting back into semi full motion with my right arm. Still weak and sore doing certain tasks such as moving it above my head etc. Driving is a lot better but still not 100%. I avoid driving during rush hours and keep to short trips.
I had a meeting with the Radiologist which did not go so well. Why must they tell you the worst case scenarios and ease it by giving what the average person goes through. I sort of got that I may have a very sore throat and "sun burn" on my right cheek. He said that I need a feeding tube in the stomach, may go bling in right eye and lose hearing .... and they wonder why there is a big pushback. It has scared the crap out of me to say the least. I have a meeting with the Chemo Doc on Tuesday and hope this goes better. The Radiologist said I need 6 weeks of treatment which means I have to go there every working day for about an hour in total. No weekends or holidays. The intern said it was to be a low does from what I could gather and I may not be too bad shape. They want to augment it with Chemo at the same time. It looks like I am going to be sort of in poor shape for the next two months (starts March 31 according to a schedule) as it is progressively going to make me very tired and nauseous? It will last two weeks after treatment ends ... wonderful.
I did get set for the mask that they use in the Radiation therapy. It seems I will be laying down and have this form fitting mask over my face and clamped down for the treatment which lasts maybe 10 to 15 minutes or so without being able to move. I'll have to see how I manage this. It seems the Cancer society has volunteer drivers to take you to these treatments which from the sounds of it I will need. Seems I will be tired and nauseous ... I can't drive and don't know how I'll be able to get around. I hope it is not as bad as this and I'll be in better shape. Everyone is very pleased with the healing process so far.
I can now swallow larger pieces of soft foods which makes me happy. I have had pancakes, sausages, cooked chicken, chicken pot pies, stews, donuts, well cooked pastas etc. When I found out I had Cancer on Dec. 10, 2013 I weighed 205 pounds on average. Today I weigh 176 pounds and my upper body has lost the muscle tone. I have to rebuild myself but the Cancer Fatigue sort of holds me back.
I am working on getting better and hope the treatments are not as bad as they make it out to be. With this cold weather and this news it seems I am down in the dumps a bit and I need to get better. It's a battle that I am fighting and having friends to talk to and go out for coffee's at times helps. Yesterday a friend took me out who had a very bad Cancer 25 years ago. He is in great shape today ... he helped. This is a hard trek which I am on and I do want to beat this. I keep getting knocked down a bit, but I try to get up and be positive about this. Friends and Family help a lot.

That it is ...
I also found out Friday that I am allergic to feathers in pillows and comforters. I had to replace both on Friday ... now I am sleeping better. Hope this helps.
